What to know | Anantara Ubud: a valley funicular, 85 rooms and villas, and 35 private pools in Bali

In the Payangan area near Ubud, Bali, there is a resort with a rainforest as its core design concept - Anantara Ubud. The address of the resort is Jl. Raya Puhu Payangan No.88, Puhu, Kec. Payangan, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali, which is a drive away from downtown Ubud. It chooses to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the market and monkey forest, focusing on the valley landscape and natural experience.

What special facilities does the resort have?

Anantara Ubud has 85 guest rooms, 35 of which are equipped with private swimming pools, spread out in steps according to the slope terrain. Due to the large terrain difference, the resort uses a funicular system as a means of vertical movement between floors, so that guest rooms on each floor can directly face the valley surrounded by mountains and forests. In the center of the high-ceiling space of the hall, there is a large-scale installation created by sound artist Aaron Taylor Kuffner. Low-frequency sound slowly flows through the space. The line of sight extends from here to the outdoor infinity pool. The edge of the pool is connected to the distant valley scenery, and the mist often moves slowly among the treetops.

What are the arrangements for dining and experience content?

There are two restaurants in the park, each playing different roles. Kirana mainly serves breakfast, and the corridor-style dining space is suitable as a starting point for the day; Amerta provides more exquisite cuisine options. In addition to dining, the resort also arranges a number of experiential activities that are connected with local culture, including forest hiking, exploring secret waterfalls, and participating in religious ceremonies in cooperation with local village elders, allowing guests to not only relax by the pool, but also have the opportunity to get in touch with the daily life and belief culture of Bali.

What are the characteristics of the natural landscape?

Because it is located in a mountainous area, the valley is often covered with fog in the early morning. On a clear day, you can see the outline of Mount Agung in the distance; after dark, there is almost no light pollution, and the starry sky and the chirping of insects become the background of the night. The overall rhythm and pace are different from the general impression of Bali resorts, providing travelers with another mountain-forest-style accommodation experience.

To what extent do you currently have room price and reservation information?

Room availability, rates and bookable experiences depend on the travel dates. Check Anantara’s official booking channels for the current options and conditions.
