Bruce Willis Makes a Rare Appearance in a Tender Black-and-White Photo at Daughter Tallulah's Wedding

Bruce Willis, who stepped away from acting three years ago, made a rare public appearance at daughter Tallulah's wedding to Justin Acee. A black-and-white photo released by Vogue has become the family's most tender public moment in recent years.

In a black-and-white photo, Bruce Willis has one arm around his daughter Tallulah, his smile clearly visible. Groom Justin Acee holds her other hand. It's one of a series of wedding photos released by Vogue, and one of the few public appearances the former action star has made in recent years.

Willis announced his retirement from acting in 2022 due to aphasia, a condition affecting communication ability, and was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia two years later. Since then, he's rarely appeared in public, and every update shared by his family has become one of the few ways the outside world can check on his condition.

Willis's wife, Emma Heming Willis, recently discussed her husband's condition on the podcast "The Unexpected Journey," mentioning a neurological symptom called anosognosia—where the brain is unable to recognize the changes happening to itself. "They think this is just their normal," she said. "It's not denial, it's that the brain literally can't connect those dots. Bruce has never been aware that he has this disease, and honestly, I'm grateful he doesn't know."

On how the two of them interact now, Heming Willis said: "People often ask me, does Bruce still recognize me? He does, because what he has isn't Alzheimer's, it's frontotemporal dementia. He still has ways of connecting with me and the kids—maybe not the kind of interaction you're used to, but it's still beautiful, still meaningful. It's just different, and you have to learn to adapt."

Tallulah also publicly addressed criticism last year over sharing photos of her father. After posting a photo together for Willis's 70th birthday, she faced some backlash and wrote: "As a family, we figure out how much to share when we post. Today was a day full of smiles." Her wedding to Acee came after the couple announced their engagement in December 2024.
