What to know | GU x Engineered Garments returns October 26 with Daily Expedition

The third collaboration between GU and Engineered Garments launches the 2026 autumn and winter series under the title "Daily Expedition". It is scheduled to be officially sold in GU stores and online stores in Japan on October 26th, and online pre-orders will be opened on October 12th. This time, there are a total of eight men's clothing and accessories, and for the first time, a tote bag is added to the cooperation between the two parties, connecting workwear, outdoor details and urban daily life.

Why is a work coat marked 2WAY?

Padded 2WAY Oversized Work Coat, priced at 9,990 yen in Japan, can be worn as a long coat or a work coat. The two lengths will change the position where it connects to the trousers, allowing the same piece of clothing to match different looks. Before purchasing, you should look at the conversion method and size of the product, and not just regard 2WAY as a decorative name. The

series also includes the Fleece Utility Jacket made of plush brush material, priced at 4,990 yen; the Warm Super Wide Utility Pants are inspired by the work pants of the 1970s and adjusted to a wider silhouette, priced at 3,990 yen. The same functional clothing design language is presented through materials, pockets and proportions.

The first collaborative tote bag, pockets and carrying method are the key points

2WAY Tote Bag is priced at 2,990 yen in Japan. It combines nylon, corduroy and plush materials into the same accessory. It comes with three outer pockets and inner pockets, and can be switched between hand-held and shoulder-carrying modes through the strap. For daily commuting, material splicing brings styling differences, and the position of the pockets directly affects the habit of taking things.

If you want to use it to hold computers, sporting goods, or heavier items, you should check the product dimensions, weight limits, and care information separately. Just because it looks like outdoor equipment is not enough to prove it has a specific waterproof rating; bags, fleece jackets and quilted coats also have different usage conditions.

How to match wide-edition items? Keep the proportions clear first

The highlight of this collaboration is to make practical clothing into silhouettes that are easier to incorporate into daily life. If you choose a wide version of both the jacket and trousers, you can adjust the overall layering by adjusting the length of the inner wear and the placement of the trouser legs; if you want to keep one key point, you can start with a brushed jacket or a multi-material bag. You don’t have to buy the entire set to express the concept of the series.

When choosing a size, it is recommended to compare the actual length, chest width and waist circumference of the product with the clothes you often wear. Oversized or Super Wide describe the design direction, and there is no guarantee that different items of the same size will have the same looseness; online pre-orders need to confirm these numbers first.

Pre-orders have started, and the official store sale is still on October 26th

Pre-order acceptance and store sales are two different things. Now that you can place orders online, it does not mean that all stores have displayed them for sale; the estimated delivery time must also be specified according to individual orders. The above dates and selling prices are based on Japanese information. In markets such as Taiwan, please check local announcements separately.

The actual value of this Daily Expedition should come back to the items you need to carry every day, your range of activities, and your dressing habits, making pockets, straps, and two ways of wearing it a truly useful detail.
