What to know | KHOKI’s Dumbo Work Jacket Brings a 1941 Film Into a Distressed Garment
The key details: The Dover Street Market Ginza exclusive is scheduled for October 24 at ¥242,000 including Japanese tax. Dumbo appears on the back, with Timothy beside the chest pocket.
KHOKI launches the Vintage Finished Work Jacket with the theme of Disney's "Dumbo" in the 2026 autumn and winter series. It is scheduled to be released at Dover Street Market Ginza on October 24. The price in Japan is 242,000 yen including tax. This Ginza-limited edition puts the flying Dumbo and mouse friend Timothy on the back and front respectively, allowing the familiar animated characters to enter the outline of work clothes with repair marks.
The characters are not repeated across the entire surface, but are distributed in different locations
The main image on the back is Dumbo flying into the air with his ears spread out, and the words "1941" are added to point to the year the movie was released in the United States. On the front, Timothy is arranged next to the breast pocket, creating a contrast between the front and back with a smaller character proportion; the red hat and clothing also become part of the color on the light-colored coat.

This configuration allows for different viewing rhythms on both sides. The back is suitable for identifying the complete theme of the story, while the front needs to be closer to pay attention to the relationship between the character and the pocket; the wearer turns around, opens and closes the jacket, or wears a shoulder bag, which will also change which images remain in sight.
What is the difference between distressed clothes and real worn clothes?
The jacket is designed based on vintage European workwear, using faded leather, hand-dyed buttons, patchwork embroidery and patchwork, deliberately leaving an inconsistent surface. These are the processing and design terms of new products, and do not mean that the clothes themselves are antiques from 1941, nor are they originals preserved from the production of the film.
For those who pay attention to the craftsmanship of a garment, it's more helpful to look closely at placement than to just look at the overall photo: where the patches fall, whether the seams meet the pockets, how the character print crosses the fabric grain, all affect how the jacket looks up close and from a distance.
Work clothes silhouettes give film images an everyday background
The pockets and clear body structure of the work jacket were originally associated with practical clothing. When childhood characters are put into this frame, the focus of viewing is not only whether the characters are cute or not, but also how familiar images are put into more mature clothing with traces of use.
When matching, you can first let the back image become the protagonist, and keep the inner layer and lower body in relatively simple color blocks; if you add many large patterns, the characters, patches and accessories may compete for attention at the same time. This is a way to read the proportions of an outfit without having to replace the entire look with the same era or brand.
It will be released in Ginza on October 24th. The limited edition refers to the sales version.
The announced sales location is the sixth floor of Dover Street Market Ginza, Ginza Komatsu Nishi Building, Ginza 6-9-5, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. When you plan to go there, you can first confirm the day's business, size and sales arrangements; limited stores do not mean that the goods will be available when you arrive at the store, and you should not speculate on the unannounced release quantity.
For Disney collectors, the words 1941 and the position of the characters are the identification points of the work; for clothing readers, KHOKI’s treatment can be understood from the fabric, repair and workwear structure. The two ways of viewing can overlap, so that the discussion of this new product does not stop at the back view, but can extend to the relationship between the character, the sense of time and the surface of the clothing.
