Liam Gallagher Blasts "Vultures" Who Stole Pretty Green: "They Can't Even Dress a Salad"

Responding to a fan's question on X, Liam Gallagher insisted that the clothing brand he founded, Pretty Green, wasn't sold off — it was stolen by "vultures." The comment surfaced just days after Oasis dropped their Knebworth 30th anniversary apparel collection.

Liam Gallagher Blasts "Vultures" Who Stole Pretty Green: "They Can't Even Dress a Salad"

"They don't know how to dress a salad, let alone know how young people dress." That's how Liam Gallagher described the people who took Pretty Green away from him. The language is crude, but the image is unmistakably sharp — someone who can't even dress a salad trying to teach young people how to dress. It's classic Gallagher-style shade, blunt and just absurd enough to land.

It started on August 15th, when an X user asked Liam Gallagher why he sold Pretty Green. His reply: "I didn't sell it, it was stolen off me by vultures who don't know how to dress a salad let alone youth." He didn't name who exactly these "vultures" were.

Pretty Green is the menswear brand Liam Gallagher founded back in 2009, named after The Jam's 1980 song of the same title. The brand later took a hit when House of Fraser collapsed in 2018, leading Pretty Green into administration in 2019, with administrators overseeing a sale that ultimately went to JD Sports. According to The Guardian, the brand was later scooped up in 2022 by Mike Ashley's Frasers Group as part of a £47.5 million deal for a batch of fashion brands.

This isn't the first time Gallagher has publicly distanced himself from Pretty Green. Back on May 21st last year, replying to a fan who asked if he was still involved with the brand, he wrote: "Not been involved for years, the fellas that ran it thought they knew it all, treated me like shit, had to get away before I ended up in bother." Again, no names were named — just a line dropped and left at that.

The timing is worth noting. Gallagher's latest remarks came just days after Oasis dropped a brand-new apparel collection to mark the 30th anniversary of their Knebworth shows — a collection that includes a reissue of the iconic Umbro zip-up jacket Liam wore back then, plus a knit jumper matching what Noel wore onstage in 1996. On one side, official band-endorsed nostalgia merch he's happy to front; on the other, an old brand he's desperate to disown. The contrast is almost too ironic.

After Oasis wrapped up their "Live '25" reunion tour last year, whether the band will hit the road again next year is still up in the air. Reports suggest they're weighing a major UK and European tour for next year, potentially including a Manchester residency and a return to Knebworth. Earlier this month, the organizers behind "Live '25" reportedly secured permission to hold a concert at the Hertfordshire estate, though nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

As for a new album, Liam Gallagher doesn't seem too fussed. Replying to a fan last month, he said: "No, I'm not ready to face the critics if it doesn't sell a hundred million copies in the first hour, cure the nation's bad breath and constipation, turn back time for Cher and all that bollocks — let's just do a few gigs, have a laugh, cheers."

Fans hoping for a closer look at this once-in-a-lifetime reunion can catch the documentary "Don't Look Back In Anger," hitting theaters and IMAX on September 11th, ahead of its eventual streaming release.
