Lin Shu-wei’s Team Wins a Radio Golden Bell by Listening Beyond Labels

The 61st Golden Bell Awards for broadcasting were announced on the evening of October 17, according to a report by Youth Daily News. POP Radio's program 'POP Zui Zheng Dian: Toward the Light, Going Home' won the Programming Award, with station director Lin Shu-wei leading the team. The report noted that the program went inside the probation office of the Taiwan Qiaotou District Prosecutors Office to document how people under protective supervision rebuild their lives, with Lin saying she hoped to show the public a side beyond common labels.

Producing the program required formally submitting official documents before gaining approval to interview subjects in such a specialized setting, making the production process demanding. During broadcast, listeners also called the station to express that they found the program meaningful. Lin Shu-wei accepted the award on stage together with production team members Hung Li-ling, Li Chieh-chi, Cheng Yu-hsuan, and Yang Min-feng, thanking the station for its support, probation officer Tang Pei-ling for her assistance, and the individuals who shared their personal stories.

From an everyday perspective, a program that goes inside institutional systems to document the circumstances of vulnerable individuals is a reminder that rehabilitation issues are not distant headlines but everyday matters tied to social trust and family support. Listeners interested in the program's theme or in rehabilitation and probation systems may want to watch for future rebroadcasts or related coverage.

After the win was announced, Lin Shu-wei's husband, Tsai Shih-ping, publicly congratulated her right away. Lin joked that the trophies at home now finally come in a pair, and expressed hope to keep using radio to explore social issues going forward.
