Massive Attack Teams Up with Bohemian F.C.: One Jersey, Packed with Che Guevara and Cuba's Lone Star

How much text can you actually fit onto a jersey? The answer: a Che Guevara speech, a line from his father, Irish-language lyrics from "Teardrop," and the lone star from Cuba's flag. Massive Attack's collaboration with Dublin club Bohemian F.C. for the 2026 FAI Cup/third kit packs in more information density than most album covers.

Bohemian F.C., one of the oldest fan-owned clubs in the world, co-designed this jersey with Massive Attack, with 30% of profits going to Cuba Vive Medical Aid Appeal (part of the Cuba Solidarity Campaign) and mediCuba-Europa, both of which work to deliver medical supplies to Cuba.

The jersey itself features bold khaki-and-black stripes with a red V-neck collar, centered around a white lone star — "La Estrella Solitaria" — taken from the Cuban flag, symbolizing independence, freedom, and sovereignty. Text from one of Che Guevara's historic speeches runs through the stripes, while Massive Attack's band logo sits on the chest. Across the crest area, "love is a doing word" is written in Irish — a line from the band's classic track "Teardrop."

The collar and cuffs are woven in Bohemian F.C.'s black-and-red colors, with three stitched stripes running down the sleeves. Inside the hem, a woven label features Dublin artist Jim Fitzpatrick's famous Guevara portrait alongside his signature. Flip open the collar and you'll find Massive Attack's flame symbol hidden on the back, next to a quote from Guevara's father: "In my son's veins flowed the blood of the Irish rebels."

Massive Attack said the design echoes Guevara's Irish bloodline and Fitzpatrick's iconic two-tone image, and reproduces passages from Guevara's speeches emphasizing international solidarity and resistance against colonialism and neo-colonial aggression: "His words still resonate with today's political struggles." The band also noted that the designated charities are arranging emergency shipments of medical supplies to Cuba, stating that "the Trump administration's blockade of the island is threatening the supply of vital materials in hospitals — this is an illegal collective punishment of the Cuban people."

Daniel Lambert, Bohemian F.C.'s commercial director (who also manages Kneecap), said the jersey was the result of months of collaboration with the Massive Attack team. Natasha Hickman of Cuba Vive Medical Aid Appeal noted that the US blockade has plunged Cuba into its deepest humanitarian crisis in decades, with infant mortality rates doubling in recent years due to shortages of medical supplies and fuel. "The Cuban people need solidarity, not sanctions," she said.

Massive Attack isn't the first act to launch a special jersey with the club — Oasis, Fontaines D.C., Kneecap, and Jazzy have all collaborated with Bohemian F.C. before. This collaboration also continues Massive Attack's recent pattern of political statements: the band was recently barred from re-entering Singapore after displaying a Palestinian flag at a concert, and member Robert Del Naja was arrested earlier this year for participating in a protest against the UK government's ban on Palestine Action. The jersey is now available through Bohemian F.C.'s official channels.
