The biggest name in the entire cast list isn't the one playing a hero. Marvel unveiled the main lineup for the new MCU X-Men at D23, and Adam Driver — known for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Marriage Story, and Ferrari — has been confirmed to play the classic X-Men villain Mister Sinister. In the announcement video posted by Marvel Studios' official Twitter account, a line reads, "There was also someone else who wanted to be here," after which Adam Driver appeared under his character's name, Nathaniel Milbury — a variation of the comic book Mister Sinister's real name, Nathaniel Essex. The character is designed as a scientist obsessed with the genetic evolution of mutants, having conducted genetic experiments for decades, making him one of the most dangerous adversaries in X-Men comic history.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige took the stage himself to unveil the full new-generation mutant lineup. Alongside the previously confirmed Jean Grey (Sadie Sink), Cyclops (Kit Connor), and Emma Frost (Samara Weaving), the roster now adds Indya Moore as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Charles Xavier.

Kit Connor's take on Cyclops arrives after neither James Marsden nor Tye Sheridan's Fox-era versions truly captured the character's comic-book weight as the X-Men's actual leader.
