Night Tempo and Shiori Tamai revisit TUBE for an October 21 single

Korean producer and DJ Night Tempo teams up with Momoiro Clover Z member Shiori Tamai for the second installment of his official TUBE cover project. The digital single 恋すれどGood-Byeはいつも背中合わせ arrives October 21, 2026, revisiting a Japanese pop song through a new arrangement and voice.

The cover was drawn by cartoonist Rie Kanou. The girl in the painting is wearing a yellow costume and hat, and is located in the world of a retro teahouse. This arrangement, which echoes the representative color of Shiori Tamai, allows the new song to establish a bright and slightly nostalgic visual character before officially listening to it.

Find another way to listen to the B-side song from 1989

The original song was included in TUBE's single "SUMMER CITY" released in June 1989 as its B-side. Compared with just re-singing the most familiar representative songs, this selection of songs gives less mentioned melodies a chance to be re-recognized by a new generation of listeners.

The first episode of the project invited Erika Ikuta to sing "シーズン・イン・ザ・サン", and the second episode featured Shiori Tamai's vocals. The two collaborations can be compared in the same series: how the memory of the original song, the characteristics of the vocals, and the rearranged rhythm each change the audience's experience of the work.

Yellow girl and retro tea, how the cover tells a story

Rie Kanouu is once again responsible for the cover of this cover series, this time using a yellow hat and dress to echo Shiori Tamai’s representative colors. The tea shop, clothing and facial expressions of the characters transform the abstract style into a stayable scene, which also continues the visual consistency of the series.

When appreciating the cover, you can observe the color blocks, fonts, and the positions of the characters. There is no need to rush to interpret all elements as foreshadowing for the MV. It is an illustrated cover for the single, not a photo of the singer's private life or a recommendation for an actual coffee shop. This article does not regard the place in the painting as a store that can be visited.

After release, how to compare the original song with the new version?

Night Tempo's new version, rearranged and sung by Shiori Tamai, provides another way to understand the original song. After it is officially launched, you can listen to it in its entirety first, and then compare the beat, instrument level and vocal distance to avoid deciding whether the old or new version is better based on just a few seconds of the intro.

It is currently announced as a digital single on October 21. This article has not verified the physical album, limited products or performance arrangements. If you want to create an autumn playlist, you can also listen to this one together with the first one, and observe how the same project extends the familiarity of Japanese pop music through different sounds.
