On August 6, Nino Paid released his sophomore solo album, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, and sat down with The FADER to talk about the new project. Less than a month later, he was stopped at the border — this time as a murder suspect.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, Nino Paid, whose real name is Jacquawn Andrews, was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol on September 1 while returning to the U.S. from Canada. Using footage pulled from a Ring doorbell camera, police identified him as an accomplice in an April shooting that left a man named Keion Borders dead. Paid was initially held at Wayne County Jail in Michigan before being extradited back to Atlanta to face trial.
