What to know | OUAT’s Isetan Shinjuku Pop-Up Features an Exclusive Wool-Cashmere Fleece Jacket

The Japanese brand OUAT is scheduled to hold a pop-up event at the men's store of Isetan Shinjuku store from October 21 to 27, 2026, focusing on the autumn and winter series, and also launching store-specific jackets. The limited edition is made of black wool and cashmere bristles, and is in limited quantity; public information has not yet listed the full size, price, and daily inventory, so the exhibition period cannot be directly regarded as a guarantee of continued availability.

Vintage clothing is the starting point for design, and the products themselves are still new products of the season.

OUAT was founded by designer Ryosuke Tamura in 2019 to re-understand vintage clothing from a contemporary perspective. This approach does not necessarily mean replicating an old piece of clothing, nor does it mean that the new item really has the same history; it is more worth observing which silhouettes, materials or details have been retained and which have been adapted for the way we wear them now.

If you usually wear vintage clothes, you can first compare with a familiar jacket when you go to the store: where the length falls, whether the shoulder line has changed, and how the pockets and zippers are configured. These specific relationships make it easier to see the design choices than just using the word "retro" to describe the entire brand.

Black bristles, the focus is not just on the fiber name

This time, the coat surface is made of a bristle material that combines wool and cashmere. Black reduces color interference, making it easier for the texture and contours of the rough surface to become the focus of viewing. However, depending on the light, the apparent thickness and lightness of the surface may still change.

Wool and Cashmere describe the material type, but do not automatically provide the complete blend ratio, garment weight and care method. If you need to compare warmth and daily use, you should read the product label instead of just relying on the name of one fiber to infer that it is suitable for all weathers or maintenance methods.

Autumn and winter coats, first use the actual inner wear to see the proportions

To choose this type of jacket with surface volume, you can first put on your usual shirt or knitwear, and then look at the shoulders, cuffs and hem. The outline of clothes on an empty hanger may be different from that of an extra layer of clothing inside; sitting down, raising hands, and backpacking are also worth confirming when trying them on.

If you want the jacket to be the main visual feature, you can first choose simpler materials and lines for the lower body, and then compare the relationship between the rough surface and denim, wool trousers or cotton trousers. The matching items do not all need to be from the same brand, the key is whether there is enough difference between the surface and length.

From October 21st to 27th, the limited editions will be viewed separately from the general series.

The pop-up includes both the 2026 autumn and winter series and the Isetan Shinjuku special edition. The sales scope of the two is different. When asking, you can directly confirm whether it is a black wool cashmere brushed model, and then ask about the size, price and day arrangements to avoid mistaking other black jackets of the same brand for this limited edition.

For those who care about Japanese clothing, a short-term pop-up provides an opportunity to compare collections intensively. You can start with the materials mentioned in the special notes, and then look at how other products in the same season handle the outline; when the materials, styles and sales conditions are clearly distinguished, the word "limited" will return to the specific work, not the only reason to buy.
