According to ELLE's report, Starbucks' promotion with CTBC Bank's "uniopen" co-branded card is set to launch. From 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, cardholders who purchase two or more Grande-size (or larger) drinks with the same size, temperature, and flavor at Starbucks physical stores can get the second drink free, courtesy of Starbucks. Notably, this offer is exclusively available to holders of the CTBC uniopen co-branded card — it is not a general promotion open to all customers.

The offer only accepts payment via the physical uniopen card tapped directly, or linked to Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay, or combined with an electronic ticket such as icash 2.0. The Starbucks app, Starbucks Card, LINE Pay, OPEN Wallet, and icash Pay are not eligible. The promotion is also limited to select physical stores, excluding drive-thru service, delivery, takeout reservations, and mobile pre-ordering. Items such as reserve coffee, pour-over coffee, siphon coffee, and ice cream beverages are also excluded.

For everyday coffee drinkers, co-branded card promotions like this are often mistaken for store-wide deals. Before inviting friends to split a coffee run, it's worth checking which credit card and payment method you're using to ensure eligibility, rather than finding out at checkout that the discount doesn't apply. Full terms remain subject to official announcements from Starbucks and CTBC Bank, and customers are advised to confirm eligibility at the specific store before visiting.
