Treehouse Hotel Manchester’s Next Chapter: Rooftop Dining, Nine Suites and Urban Wellness
From Sister Moon's Southeast Asian barbecue to The Nest's city skyline views, Treehouse Hotel Manchester links dining, music, suites, and sport and leisure into a day's itinerary. Get to know the new high-floor spaces, the nine-suite plan, and padel, outdoor sauna, and a 43-seat screening room all at once.
In Manchester, giving a city trip more layers doesn't necessarily mean packing the schedule tight. Treehouse Hotel Manchester uses timber, patchwork textiles, planting, and collector's-item objects to extend its accommodation into a living space where guests can eat, listen to music, watch films, exercise, and gather. This round of hotel updates—new high-floor dining, nine suites, and leisure facilities—further expands the reasons to stay.
The hotel opened in March 2025, located near the junction of Blackfriars Street and Deansgate. The newest spaces focus on a rooftop dining cluster on floors 14 and 15, along with a suite layout on floors 11 and 12; as of this verification, the official website marks Sister Moon restaurant and The Nest bar as Now Open, while the actual availability and programming of other spaces should still be confirmed via each venue's booking information.
What's worth knowing first about this update?
Rooftop dining: Sister Moon centers on Southeast Asian flavors and open-flame cooking, while The Nest combines cocktails, music, and city views.
Private gatherings: The Hideout offers more secluded corners and an outdoor terrace, geared toward private event needs.
Suite spaces: The hotel introduces nine new suites, including a presidential suite and some interconnecting configurations, for families, groups, and long-stay travelers to consider.
Everyday activities: a padel court, The Playground fitness space, an outdoor sauna, and the Flix screening room mean the itinerary isn't only built around the dining table.

Starting from the lobby: understanding the lived-in feel of the Treehouse Hotel
Walking into the hotel, the lobby's timber walls, birdhouses, and branch-like decorations turn the brand's "treehouse" concept into visible detail. Compared with uniform business spaces, this one juxtaposes different materials, colors, and objects to create a homely feel, as if collected and arranged gradually over the years.

The new floors were created jointly by House of Black and the hotel's design team, continuing the vocabulary of reclaimed timber, patchwork fabrics, planting, and signature collectibles, while adding pressed-flower art, mixed-media works, etched mirrors, and custom wallpaper. The sofas and corner seating in the living areas let the space serve not just as a passage, but also as a place to stop, chat, and browse a book.

Sister Moon: Southeast Asian barbecue reinterpreted with British ingredients
Sister Moon is created by chef Sam Grainger together with Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford. Grainger transforms culinary inspiration gathered from his travels across Southeast Asia into flavors expressed through local British ingredients, combining smoking, grilling, and open-flame cooking so that spice and fire become the core of the menu.
Dishes introduced by the hotel include red prawn toast with red curry broth, grilled octopus with massaman curry, Singapore chili crab, and lobster baked pasta, as well as 80-day dry-aged ribeye steak with black garlic and pepper. These combinations bring together seafood, meat, and layered spices at the same table; actual availability is still subject to the restaurant's current menu.

Beyond the food, Cowdrey and Crawford also bring music into the restaurant's atmosphere. The window-side city views, timber, and greenery form a backdrop that carries the space from dining through to evening socializing. The hotel also introduces a private dining and music-related program called New Moon Suppers; interested travelers can check the events calendar for their travel dates, as not every program should be assumed to run daily.
The Nest and The Hideout, for different rhythms of gathering
The Nest sets the city skyline as its backdrop, furnished with soft seating, large lanterns, and planting, giving the rooftop bar a garden-like atmosphere. The drinks program includes cocktails based on tequila or mezcal, paired with fruit, herbs, spices, and citrus; combinations introduced by the hotel include elements like green mango, pomelo, and lime.
Music is likewise part of The Nest. The venue programs guest DJs, resident performances, and events combining fashion, lifestyle, and creative brands, so evening gatherings can vary according to different programming. If planning around a specific performance or themed event, confirm the day's program and admission conditions in advance.
The Hideout, located higher up, emphasizes privacy and an exclusive outdoor terrace, with private gatherings, dinners, and special events as its primary use cases. The difference between the two isn't just floor level: the former links social atmosphere through music and cocktails, while the latter offers a more private event space—booking arrangements for each should be inquired about separately.

Nine new suites, giving living and rest room to breathe
The hotel introduces nine new suites this time, including a presidential suite and room types that can flexibly interconnect. The spatial design considers the needs of families, groups, and long-stay guests, with living areas, dining areas, reading corners, dressing spaces, and simple kitchens of varying scale, so that accommodation can hold not just sleep but also gatherings or longer-term living arrangements.

The suites continue the hotel's style of reclaimed timber, layered textiles, and collected objects, with window views bringing Manchester indoors. Some interconnecting configurations allow traveling companions to keep their own rooms while arranging shared activity space; whether rooms interconnect, maximum occupancy, and whether individual room types include a kitchen or dressing area should all be confirmed item by item when booking.

Padel, fitness, and outdoor sauna, arranging different ways to stay
The Pollen Club next to the hotel has two padel courts with a waterproof canopy overhead, offering lessons, matches, and options for friends to arrange games together. This facility belongs to the experience of the adjacent club; whether a stay includes use, court fees, and booking slots must be checked separately, and should not be assumed to be a free accommodation perk.
The Playground introduces Technogym equipment and combines personal training with seasonal classes, programming dynamic training, group classes, yoga, and guided meditation; local residents can also inquire about membership plans. The Good Sauna's outdoor space additionally offers a wood-fired sauna, cold plunge, and communal rest area, letting travelers arrange different leisure activities according to personal preference.
From Pip to Flix, leaving time for the hotel's everyday rhythm
Pip, run by Mary-Ellen McTague, presents dining with local and seasonal ingredients, while also combining a lounge, co-working, and creative events. For those not planning to turn every meal into a formal dinner, Pip offers another way to linger and meet friends within the hotel.
Flix is a 43-seat private screening room equipped with 4K projection and Dolby Atmos, usable for film events, private screenings, or presentations. The hotel also has flexible meeting and event space that can accommodate up to 400 guests; seating formats, capacity, rental terms, and programming for different venues should be based on actual booking conditions.
Treehouse Hotel Manchester is located at Blackfriars St, Manchester M3 2EQ, United Kingdom. Booking, dining, and event information can be checked via thehotel's official website; room rates and dining prices should be confirmed according to the selected dates and packages.
