What to know | Twinings Advent Tea Calendar 2026: 24 Windows Inside a Book-Shaped Christmas Scene

Twinings launches the 2026 Advent Tea Calendar, which contains 24 tea bags in book-style packaging. It is scheduled to open a small window every day from December 1st to 24th. The Japanese channel has been on the shelves since October 20th. The price is 2,139 yen including tax. There are 24 styles, one pack each. The launch date is different from the actual countdown date. Buying it now does not mean that you have to open it all at once.

After opening the pink book cover, it is a Christmas living room

This year’s packaging is themed Christmas time under warm lights, with teapots, candles and tea tables painted on the pink cover. Turning inside, the picture changes from the cover to the fireplace, Christmas tree and gifts, and then further unfolds the decorative balls and character scenes, so that the action of taking the tea bag is also a layer-by-layer reading of the illustrations.

The appeal of this type of countdown design lies not only in the one pack a day, but also in the order of opening. The outer box first provides a complete scene, and subsequent small windows allocate daily attention; even if the tea bag will eventually leave the box, the packaging can still become a festive scene on the desktop for a while.

24 teas, not all of them caffeine-free

The box contains black tea and caffeine-free tea drinks selected by the brand, ranging from common flavors to limited edition blends. There is one pack for each type of tea, so "some decaffeinated options" should not be interpreted as meaning that the entire box is caffeine-free; if you have a need for specific ingredients, you should still check the ingredients and labels on a package-by-pack basis.

The outlet comes with mixing instructions and brewing methods, making it suitable to treat opening the window and reading the label as the same step. Don’t let all tea bags share the exact same amount of water or steeping time just because the outer boxes have the same shape; prepare according to the recommendations of each type to make it easier to understand the flavor direction of different tea types.

As a gift, first check the size and the other person’s tea drinking habits.

The packaging is approximately 18 inches wide, 26 inches tall, and 2 centimeters thick. The brand is designed with a thin size that can be used for Japan Post delivery. Actual delivery should still be confirmed according to local postal service specifications, weight and packaging. The Japanese Postal Adaptation Description cannot be directly applied to all delivery methods in Taiwan.

Before giving a gift, you can also think about whether the other party has tea cups, hot water and a fixed rest period. The countdown calendar needs to be used for several days to weeks. If the recipient prefers to freely choose the tea at one time, the 24 packs can also be regarded as an exploration combination, and there is no need to turn the daily window into a hard and fast rule.

Available on shelves from October 20th, store arrival times may vary

The channels announced in Japan include some grocery stores, supermarkets, department stores and online stores, and the shelf time of each store may be different. Japan’s pricing and sales arrangements do not mean that Taiwan has introduced them simultaneously. Shipping time should also be taken into account when purchasing cross-border, especially if you want it to be delivered before December 1.

For packaging design readers, this calendar provides a combination of space and time: how a thin book can accommodate 24 times of use, and how an illustration changes perspective after turning the page. For those who usually drink tea, they can regard it as a trial with a clear beginning and end, and slowly compare which one is suitable for their daily life.
