What to know | UNIQLO F.RISSO’s Second Chapter: Knitwear, Color and Sculptural Shapes Arrive October 30
The key details: Francesco Risso’s capsule includes five sweater styles plus a beanie and socks. The full Japanese range is planned for 105 stores and online; the accessories do not use 3D knitting.
UNIQLO F.RISSO, the collaboration between UNIQLO and Francesco Risso, is scheduled to launch a knitted capsule series on October 30, 2026. This is the second chapter after the summer collaboration. "Made for Dreaming" continues the imagination of vintage knitting, two-color and three-dimensional silhouettes. The full series in Japan is expected to be sold in 105 stores and the official online store; in addition to the five knitted tops, there are also beanies and socks.

Machine knitting pursues a handmade surface
In the brand's public statement, Risso talked about the hope of using precision machinery to present natural undulations and warm textures, rather than directly imitating the handmade works of the past. 3D knitting provides a three-dimensional forming method, allowing the silhouette of the clothes to be considered together with the knitting structure, and incorporating two-color contrast into daily items.
"Seamless" still depends on the official definition: some labels or reinforcements will be sewn, but it does not mean that the entire garment has no seams at all. Wool hats and socks do not belong to this 3D knitted product category. Just because they are in the same series, the method of making tops cannot be applied to all accessories.
Five tops, the differences first look at the collar type and volume
The series covers high collar, mid-high collar, Polo, as well as more substantial V-neck and boat-shaped collar. The thin and fluffy silhouettes provide different ways of wearing. The prices announced in Japan for knitted tops are 3,990 to 4,990 yen, beanies are 1,500 yen, and socks are 590 yen; please refer to local information for items and pricing in various locations.
When choosing, you can first decide how much of the inner collar should be exposed, and then look at the shoulder line, length and hem. A high collar will focus the vision on the face and neck, a V-neck will allow more space for the inner layer to be exposed, and a boat-shaped collar will change the horizontal lines of the shoulders and neck; the same set of colors may also have different centers of gravity depending on the collar shape.

Two-color contrast, how to put it into existing clothes?
This time, a clear color relationship is used to form recognition, and the matching does not necessarily require adding the same strong pattern. You can first make the knitted top the main color block, and use the familiar dark, denim or neutral colors in your wardrobe for the lower body and coat, and then decide the details based on the exposed neckline and cuffs.
If you like the playfulness of the series but don’t want to change the whole set at once, you can also check the color matching from the hat or socks. They occupy a small visual area, but the way they are exposed changes with the collar of the jacket, the length of the pants and the shape of the shoes. This is a choice of styling allocation, not a reason why tops and accessories must be purchased as a set.

Designer background and scale of this collaboration
Risso used to be the creative director of Marni and is currently the creative director of GU; this time, through cooperation with UNIQLO, he put his interest in color and silhouette into daily knitting. When understanding the work, you can look at the brand's own product system and how the designer retains his personality amidst price, size and process conditions.

What is worth noting about this series is how handcrafted feel and industrial processes meet in an everyday top; the version that truly suits you still has to go back to the collar shape, color and actual wearing proportions.
