No title, no advance notice — Becker simply said, "This one's not out yet," and the crowd was already singing the chorus along with him. On the night of August 15, Zimmer90 took the Revolut Stage on day five, the closing night, of Sziget Festival 2026, marking the German dream-pop trio's first-ever show in Hungary.
The band — vocalist/keyboardist Josch Becker, guitarist/bassist Finn Gronemeyer, and drummer Michael Schoet — opened the set with Becker calling out to the crowd: "This is insane for us, having this many people here. Enjoy your last day of this festival."
The set was split into two halves: the first leaned into the band's signature hazy, dreamy textures with performances of "Movin'" and "Makes Me Wanna Dance." As the sky darkened, the sound shifted toward something more danceable, with "What Love Is" anchoring the back half. At one point Becker joked to the crowd, "If you want to open a circle pit, now's the time." Right before bringing out the new song, the band played Daft Punk's "One More Time," which got a huge reaction from the crowd.
Near the end of the set, Becker announced: "We're gonna do a new song, this one's not out yet!" He then told the crowd the band would be heading out on a European tour in three months, "hopefully seeing some of you again out there in the crowd. Let's sing it together one last time, I'll sing it for you, okay?" According to UK outlet NME, Becker never revealed the new track's title throughout the set, but the song built through layered synth walls and heavy kick-drum rhythms, with Becker leading the crowd in a call-and-response of the song's core lyric line by line: "I can't stop / I won't stop."
Zimmer90 previously contributed the track "what a life" to the "Bose x NME: C25" mixtape. Speaking to NME at the time about the band's creative process, Gronemeyer said: "We've refined this precise sound step by step, but we never feel like it's finished. Even when a track is done, it's just one piece of a bigger picture. There's still so much between the two of us that we haven't explored creatively."
Also performing on the closing night of Sziget Festival 2026 were Jorja Smith, Soulwax, Sub Focus, and headliner Skrillex, whose set was immediately followed by fireworks marking the festival's close. The full five-day lineup also included Sombr, Twenty One Pilots, Ashnikko, Biffy Clyro, Dijon, Kim Dracula, Lewis Capaldi, Wolf Alice, Nia Archives, TOMORA, Skepta, Rose Gray, PERTURBATOR, and Peggy Gou.
The new song has yet to be officially released, and neither its title nor its exact release plans have been made public.
