What to know | ZOZOTOWN x M League returns with player-designed mahjong graphics

ZOZOTOWN has launched its third cooperation with the Japanese professional mahjong league M League. It will be sold on ZOZOTOWN as a pre-order from October 16, 2026. There are 23 models in the series, with prices ranging from 880 to 6,900 yen. In addition to T-shirts and sweatshirts, it also covers notebooks, hats and carry-on bags. This time the design puts the players' personal symbols into the mahjong image, instead of just having the league name printed on the chest.

Which three players are participating? Each pattern has its own origin

Takaharu Oi, Arisa Date and Yu Suzuki respectively supervised the products and also personally participated in the image shooting. Takaharu Oi's style is centered on symbolizing his own "speed" and "strength", combined with the shape of mahjong tiles, and appears on hooded tops, T-shirts and coil notebooks. This approach allows text to become player identification and clothing images at the same time.

The design of Ida Jurisha is based on the meat ball of the pet dog "ぺち", and the seven-tube pattern is reprocessed to launch long-sleeved T-shirts, sweatshirts and notebooks. The originally regularly arranged card symbols have become closer to fans through details connected to life stories, allowing people who are not familiar with the players to start reading from the patterns themselves.

Yu Suzuki transformed the "中" plate into a sword-shaped image called "中 Sword", which is used for long-sleeved tops, sweatshirts and notebooks. The design directions of the three people are different: some are text and competitive images, some are life characters, and some are fictional props extending from the shape of the cards.

Mahjong costume language that can be understood even without watching the game

series also designs clothing with mahjong terms such as "PON" and "RON", as well as sacoche carry-on bags and mesh hats. For readers who have followed M League, the products are linked to player stories; for those who only like images, they can choose from fonts, pattern proportions and colors, without having to buy the entire set of peripherals.

In terms of matching, large-area patterns are suitable for retaining one protagonist first. If the top already has an eye-catching brand name or text, the trousers can start with a plain color; if the daily wear is low-key, notebook or bag styles can also be easier to use.

What is the difference between pre-order and spot purchase? Check the delivery date first

What is announced this time is a pre-order sale. The order is placed and the goods are received at different points in time. Before purchasing, you should check the acceptance period, estimated delivery date, size and cancellation conditions on each product page; different items may also be shipped in batches. 880 to 6,900 yen is the price range announced in Japan, and cross-border shipping and other charges must be confirmed separately.

For trendy collaboration, what is worth watching about this collaboration is how sports and competitive culture can enter daily objects through the players’ own symbols. What really affects your choice is the style you can wear and use, and whether the story behind the pattern resonates, rather than treating all items as must-have collections just because they are the "third item."
