The name of this deep red shade sounds like it was made for a Japanese autumn — Maple Red (メープルレッド). It's the latest limited-edition addition from TATCHA, the U.S.-born beauty brand known for its emphasis on Japanese craftsmanship and fermented skincare, celebrating five years since its debut in Japan. The new shade joins the brand's bestselling Kiss Lip Mask lineup, with TATCHA set to hit its official five-year milestone in the Japanese market in September 2026.
The new Kiss Lip Mask Maple Red (9g, priced at 3,630 yen in Japan) draws inspiration from the fiery hues of Japanese maple leaves in autumn. True to the brand's signature formula, the rich, gel-like texture melts onto lips to smooth over fine lines while locking in moisture.
Unlike a typical new-shade rollout, TATCHA is giving Maple Red its global debut through a limited-time pop-up counter at @cosme Tokyo and @cosme Osaka, running from Wednesday, August 26 through Tuesday, September 29. Starting the same day, both locations will also offer an exclusive Kiss Lip Mask Duo set, priced at 7,260 yen, featuring 9g each of the original shade and Maple Red, along with an original charm keychain in the brand's signature purple. The shade won't hit general retail until Wednesday, September 9, when it launches simultaneously on ISETAN BEAUTY ONLINE and @cosme Shopping.
