GOBI CashmereTech heads to Japan: Naoki Takizawa puts cashmere-blend fill inside winter outerwear
GOBI begins selling selected products in Daikanyama on November 5, including eight CashmereTech outerwear styles. Four Japanese prices are announced, starting at ¥59,000 including tax; four remain pending.
Cashmere can sit inside a winter jacket as well as on the surface of a sweater. Mongolian brand GOBI Cashmere will begin selling selected products in Japan on November 5 through a pop-up inside NAOKI TAKIZAWA DAIKANYAMA SHOP in Tokyo. The launch also introduces the GOBI CashmereTech by NAOKI TAKIZAWA 2026 outerwear collection to Japan for the first time.
The Japanese retail launch is the new development, rather than the collection’s global debut. The collaboration began in October 2025, was presented in Mongolia in April 2026, and was followed by Takizawa’s appointment as creative director in July. Separating those dates keeps the focus on a new retail opportunity rather than announcing his appointment again.
CashmereTech uses cashmere in place of the conventional down-and-feather approach to insulation, but the construction description specifies cashmere-blend padding. It should not be called a garment made entirely from cashmere. Functional outer fabric, blended insulation and a down-proof lining form the multilayer construction, placing the natural fibre within the insulating structure.

The outer material comes from Toray and is described by the brand as wind-resistant, water-repellent and breathable. Water repellency does not make the entire garment waterproof, and the announcement supplies neither per-style water-pressure ratings nor full test conditions. These material details help comparison for commuting, but sustained rain use requires checking the actual product specifications.
Eight silhouettes and temperature guidance that varies by style
The lineup comprises the men’s Light Biker Jacket, women’s Light Western Jacket, unisex 3 Ways Bomber Jacket and 5 Ways Convertible Coat, plus the women’s Field Parka and unisex Field Jacket, Bench Coat and Hooded Jacket. Short jackets offer compact proportions while longer outerwear adds coverage, creating different options for length and layering.

GOBI describes the range as designed for temperatures from −30°C to −5°C and specifically associates its −30°C reference with EXTRAWARM. This is not a shared rating for every style. The announcement does not set out a common test method, underlying layers, wind speed or activity level, so the figures should not be treated as universal comfort guarantees.

November 5 in Daikanyama, with four prices confirmed
Japanese prices including tax are ¥63,000 for the men’s Light Biker Jacket, ¥59,000 for the women’s Light Western Jacket, ¥105,455 for the 3 Ways Bomber Jacket and ¥129,091 for the 5 Ways Convertible Coat. Prices for the remaining four styles are not yet fixed. These are Japan-market figures, not Taiwan prices or totals including international delivery.
The pop-up is inside the shop in Hillside Terrace Building C, Daikanyama, with retail sales beginning November 5. The November 4 media preview is by advance appointment, not an early public shopping day. An end date, full size availability and Taiwan retail channels are not given in this announcement; visitors should confirm the desired style and shop arrangements before travelling.
