Ask for Alonzo Rolls Out Sicily-Only Set Menu, Starring Italian Lemon and Neapolitan Eggplant

Can a humble home-style dish from Sicily's eastern coast carry an entire set menu? Ask for Alonzo's answer is yellowtail crudo: raw fish drizzled with Sicilian lemon, a preparation pulled straight from the home kitchens of Messina, Taormina, Catania, and Syracuse. This opens the three-course "Taste of Sicily" set menu, priced at HK$358 per person, running until November 15 across all six Hong Kong branches.

The main course goes with Sicily's most iconic dish—rigatoni alla norma. The eggplant is prepared two ways: half fried until crisp, half pan-cooked until soft, then tossed together with tomatoes, ricotta salata, basil, and olive oil, finished with a touch of Italian chili for a bit of kick. It's not your mellow, run-of-the-mill tomato pasta.

For those looking to add on, Sicilian octopus (HK$88) is available separately. Dessert closes things out with an olive oil orange cake, made with Sicilian olive oil and orange syrup, layered with plenty of mascarpone to balance the sweetness—arguably a dish that captures the essence of "Sicily" even more than the main course.

The drink selections follow the same theme: refreshing Sicilian lemonade (HK$48), sparkling gazzosa rossa (HK$68), and an Averna sour (HK$88). Rather than leaning on the usual seafood-heavy or tomato seafood risotto tropes, the whole menu picks a handful of everyday dishes from Sicily's eastern coast, piecing together a lunch or dinner that's not overly long, but clear in direction.

Ask for Alonzo operates multiple locations across Hong Kong, with the set menu available until November 15.
