Audemars Piguet's (AP) annual Connoisseurs Event has been running for several days since October 14, according to Marie Claire. The exhibition opened with an installation symbolizing the brand's historic building at 16 Rue de France in Le Brassus, Switzerland, and is organized into four zones — Crafting Timepieces, Crafting Our Time, Crafting Our Future, and the Collector's Watch Collection. Highlights trace the brand's history, from an 1895 split-seconds chronograph minute repeater pocket watch and a 1928 platinum ultra-thin pocket watch, to a 2000 diamond-set skeleton pocket watch, alongside contemporary pieces made with materials such as titanium, ceramic and bulk metallic glass (BMG).
The exhibition's centerpiece, the Collector's Watch Collection, brings together 35 rarely seen pieces — some of which, according to the report, even AP's own specialists had never seen in person. All 35 were loaned entirely by Taiwanese collectors and are grouped into nine categories including chiming watches, jewellery watches, calendar watches, tourbillons, and collaborations. Notable pieces include a fully diamond-set watch said to be the only one of its kind in the world, Marvel and KAWS collaboration watches, a white ceramic Royal Oak, and a Code 11.59 watch with a jade dial.
