Ayaka Miyoshi and Cho Gi-Seok create Selēnē, an art book for a new decade

Actor and model Ayaka Miyoshi releases Selēnē on December 22, 2026, with photographs made in Korea by Cho Gi-Seok. The art book explores past, present and future through images of the body, clothing and personal expression at the start of her thirties.

This is also the first time she has released a book after nine and a half years of breach of contract. Compared with just treating the photo book as a record of the star's current situation, "Selēnē" is more worthy of understanding from the collaborative approach of the two creators: Ayaka Sanyoshi participated in the production process of concept, clothing, makeup and hair, and photography integrated these choices into a visual work with a narrative sense.

Key facts

  • Release date: December 22, 2026, published by Gentosha.
  • Specifications: A4, 96 pages; published price is 3,300 yen before tax.
  • Japanese bookstores will gradually open reservations from 17:00 on October 20, and the conditions for each channel are different.

From being photographed to co-participating in production

This book was shot in South Korea, and Ayaka Miyoshi facilitated the cooperation because of her long-term appreciation of Cho Gi-Seok's works. She also participated in the discussion of clothing, makeup, hair and shooting concepts, so that the image is not just the photographer's one-way depiction of the character, but also includes the character's choice of their current state.

When appreciating this type of art book, you can put aside the celebrity identity temporarily and observe the relationship between the character's posture, light and props. The black and white, dark colors and bright colors in the published photos create different emotions; this is a visual reading based on the images and is not a guarantee of the content of unpublished pages or the entire book.

Past, present and future, how to become viewing clues

"Past, present, and future" is a theme that can be compared repeatedly: the past can be understood from the accumulation of career, the present is the image and will at the age of 30, and the future remains undefined possibilities. This structure eliminates the need for life stages to be measured solely by age numbers or physical appearance.

Readers can also notice how clothing obscures, extends, or emphasizes the body, and how a group of images are connected through color and composition. The speed at which you read an art book is up to you. By flipping through the same photo repeatedly, you can often see more details than by rushing to find the complete story.
