Bode SS27 Returns to the Golden Age of American Cowboys, Emily Adams Bode Aujla Lets Fringe and Denim Tell the Story
Continuing the "Rodeo Bodeo" theme from FW26, Bode's SS27 collection zeroes in on the heyday of American cowboys from 1865 to the 1890s, reimagining Western classics through cow print, suede fringe, and embellished denim.
A brown cow-print bikini paired with a matching jacket appears in Bode's SS27 collection — the season's most on-the-nose image, one that yanks a century-spanning nostalgic theme straight into the present. Designer Emily Adams Bode Aujla isn't interested in keeping this season stuck in museum-piece recreation; she's after a West you can actually wear out.
SS27 continues the "Rodeo Bodeo" concept from FW26, with the theme centered on what the brand calls the "golden age of American cowboys," spanning 1865 to the 1890s. The setup isn't exactly novel, but Bode's execution carries its signature handcrafted feel: beyond cow print, there are understated rodeo motifs, chunky suede and leather fringe, and heavily detailed embellished denim.
Beyond that cow-print bikini set, menswear also gets a matching jacket-and-shorts pairing in the same print, outlined with green piping and worn with a green striped tee underneath. Other fabrics hide more cowboy culture symbols — lasso tricks, galloping horses — rendered in colorful patterns. Some designs stay more restrained: a gray animal-print fabric overlaid with the dynamic silhouette of a blue cowboy lasso, subtle enough that you have to look closely to catch it.
Fringe is the season's main event. Brown leather riding pants finish with short fringe at the hem, while several jackets feature more dramatic fringe treatments, including a red short jacket with decorative fringe detailing at the yoke. Denim remains SS27's core material — a ranch-collar long-sleeve top is dotted with star-shaped studs at the pockets, and another workwear jacket gets folk-inspired piping trim along the collar, pockets, and cuffs.
The overall styling maintains an easygoing contemporary feel, with statement pieces doing the heavy lifting for Western atmosphere, while tees, trousers, and sharply tailored suiting hold down the everyday-wearability base of the collection. Release date and pricing information have yet to be announced.
