Bangkok Riverside Book Fair Sets Up a "Book Blind Date," Plus Food Stalls to Boot

Take an old favorite novel, its spine worn soft from rereading, wrap it in plain paper, tuck in a few cryptically written clues, and hand it over to a complete stranger — this is the "Book Blind Date" set up at BOTLC Book Fair 2026, and it's easily the most cinematic part of the whole event. You'll never know if the other person falls for the same story you once fell for, but that gamble alone is more thrilling than just browsing the stalls.

The book fair runs July 10-12 at the Bank of Thailand Learning Centre, located at 273 Samsen Road, Wat Sam Phraya, Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok, right along the Chao Phraya River. Hours are 10 AM to 6 PM daily, and admission is completely free.

Beyond the book stalls, there's a riverside DIY painting class where you can channel your inner Monet and splash your feelings onto canvas while gazing at the flowing river. There are also chances to chat directly with authors and get an inside look at the publishing world. The creative market section features handicrafts, small art pieces, and postcards — perfect for picking up a few souvenirs along the way.

And bookworms still need to eat — multiple food stalls are on site so tired visitors can sit down and refuel after flipping through a few books. After all, books feed the mind, but the stomach still needs real food.

Free admission, a riverside setting, and a book-matching gamble with a hint of romance — all of this gives the fair a little more reason to make the trip than just another book market.
