Carhartt WIP's New "Destroy Wash" Technique Ages Garments Before You Even Wear Them for FW26

Carhartt WIP's FW26 collection centers on "Destroy Wash," a hand-applied distressing technique that gives staples like the OG Chore Coat built-in wear before they're ever worn, with prices ranging from $18 to $348 USD.

How long does it take for a work jacket to develop real wear and tear? Carhartt WIP is skipping the wait entirely, crafting that sense of time directly into the garment.

The centerpiece of the FW26 collection is a new hand-applied technique called "Destroy Wash," developed specifically for heavyweight canvas pieces. The process involves deliberately abrading seams and hems, giving garments a weathered look straight out of the factory. This treatment has been applied to several brand staples: the OG Chore Coat, the women's OG Arcan Jacket, and the OG Double Knee Pant. In other words, this isn't about designing new silhouettes — it's about redefining what "lived-in" should look like on classic ones.

The outerwear lineup takes a different approach with the Curtis Sweater Jacket and Bolon Sweat Jacket, which lean into functional tailoring with colorways like Tangled Shady Purple and Dark Navy — a rare departure from the season's predominantly workwear-toned earth palette. Denim pieces like the Oakland Shirt Jac and Oakland Pant get their character from washing and distressing treatments, while knitwear like the 1989 Winners Sweat maintains the brand's signature balance between durability and everyday wearability.

On the print side, the Duck Feather Print appears on the Travon Shirt and a matching cap, marking one of the season's rarer graphic experiments. Rounding things out are graphic tees like the Playing Cards Tee and Cheese Toast Tee, offering a lighter counterpoint to the heavier textures found throughout the distressed pieces.

The collection is priced from $18 USD to $348 USD, and is available now at Carhartt WIP flagship stores worldwide, select retailers, and the brand's official website.
