No Need to Fly to Hong Kong: city'super Brings Peninsula and Kowloon Hotel Mooncakes to Mid-Autumn Preorders

Getting your hands on Peninsula Hotel's custard mooncakes used to mean waiting for an overseas trip and picking up a box along the way. This year, city'super has brought the experience straight to Taiwan's Mid-Autumn preorder list — and tucked in an exclusive limited to just 500 boxes.

city'super has announced its "2026 Mid-Autumn Preorder," and the lineup this time is nothing short of impressive: two five-star hotels — Hong Kong's Kowloon Hotel and the Peninsula Hotel — join Hong Kong-style mooncake brand Wong Yuet, century-old Italian dessert house COVA, and Taiwanese patisserie Le Ruban. The standout to watch is Kowloon Hotel's "Mini Flaky Custard Mooncake" — flaky pastry wrapped around rich custard filling, exclusive to city'super with only 500 boxes available, and no restock once sold out. The Peninsula Hotel, meanwhile, brings its classic lineup with two options: the "Mini Custard and White Lotus Mooncake 8-Piece Set" and the "Chef's Recommended Custard Mooncake 8-Piece Set."

Wong Yuet's headliners this round are the "Classic Molten Double Radiance Mooncake" and the "Molten Mini Pistachio Mooncake," the latter folding nutty pistachio aroma into a molten filling — a fresh spin beyond traditional Hong Kong-style mooncakes. Century-old Italian dessert brand COVA brings its "Golden Radiance Assorted Mooncake 8-Piece Set," packing four flavors into one box: molten chocolate, egg yolk white lotus, sea salt caramel macadamia, and custard. Applying Western pastry techniques to the Mid-Autumn mooncake format results in an entirely different eating experience.

Le Ruban × Tsujiri: A Collaboration You Can Only Find Here

The true city'super exclusive is the collaboration between Le Ruban Patisserie and Japan's long-established tea house Tsujiri — the "Tea Aroma Heritage Collaboration Gift Box." There's not a single mooncake in this box; instead, it's a curated tea-pairing set: matcha brown rice mille-feuille, matcha cookies, matcha yuzu sandwich cookies, matcha soba meringue, and Uji hojicha meringue. The five treats separate out the flavors of matcha, hojicha, and yuzu, positioning the set more as a gift than a seasonal must-have.

Pricing and the official launch date have yet to be announced. Those interested should keep an eye out for city'super's upcoming preorder details.
