The flyer read "Geordie Greep is a rapist," along with the line "you know what you did on the morning of October 8th." The flyers were handed out outside The Pearl venue in Vancouver, and later that night, Geordie Greep took the stage alone, without his band.
He addressed the crowd directly about what happened the night before: "What happened last night, basically, is me and some of the crew went out drinking, met some people, and ended up at a late house party. I misread the situation with someone there and made a move that didn't go the way I expected. I apologized right away — it was entirely my misunderstanding, and I feel really bad, really sorry about it." He continued: "I would never rape any woman. I'm not a rapist. That's not what happened."
Greep also explained why he took the stage alone — his bandmates were shaken after learning about the situation, and he didn't want to force them to perform as usual. He also told the audience that anyone who wanted a refund or wished to leave was free to do so. He added that proceeds from that night's Vancouver show would be donated to an anti-violence organization in British Columbia. "I just want to be honest with you about what happened," he said. "I'm really, really, really sorry that I made someone uncomfortable without meaning to — that's not a good thing."
