The crowds haven't even fully cleared out of Kai Tak Sports Park yet, and the new restaurants lining up outside are already seeing queues form—this isn't coincidence, it's the timeline Kai Tak's property development has been running on for years. With AIRSIDE, The Twins, Cullinan Sky Mall, and Kai Tak Sports Park opening in succession, this reclaimed runway district has transformed from empty land into a dining cluster built around one core logic: a meal before or after the game.

The batch of restaurants closest to the stadium are all within a five-to-ten-minute walk. Hungry Tiger Hidden Dragon sits just steps from the stadium entrance, its old-school Chinese menu built around yuzu pepper tuna (HKD88), teppan beef tenderloin (HKD188), Nagoya Cochin chicken hand-made dumplings (HKD98), and three-yellow chicken (HKD188), located on the 4th floor of the Kai Tak Sports Park Health & Fitness Centre. Within the same sports park, Phaya Asura carries on the style of its sister restaurant Asura—you won't find pad Thai or green papaya salad here, but instead fried banana blossom salad (HKD108), lime and green mango tossed with fresh corn (HKD98), and massaman curry with fresh durian (HKD198), flavours that are complex without leaning heavily into spice. A ten-minute walk away is Twelve Flavours, the Kai Tak outpost of this Sichuan chain that already has 22 locations across Hong Kong—beyond chili-fried diced chicken (HKD138), sliced beef in chili oil (HKD158), and dry-fried green beans (HKD68), the dry pot is a must-order, best paired with a cold dish to cut the heat.

The mall inside Kai Tak Sports Park also offers two quick-bite options: N+Burger, Hong Kong's first burger joint to raise its own cattle in Australia and import Angus beef directly, made its name in Wan Chai before landing in Kai Tak—its signature N+ Classics Original (HKD68) gets its savoury depth from an au jus sauce, while the Hottie Chicken (HKD78) is a Kai Tak exclusive featuring grilled chicken strips with smoky BBQ sauce. Meanwhile, The Pantry Club, just steps from the stadium, serves up Western-style brunch fare—tiramisu pancakes (HKD125), toffee crème brûlée pancakes (HKD122), lobster meat burger (HKD228), and the All Day Brekky (HKD165) are the standouts.

AIRSIDE has by far the densest cluster of international options in Kai Tak. Groundswell brings Southeast Asian and halal flavours into the mall, complete with an indoor surf machine—its highlights include gado-gado with Indonesian peanut sauce salad (HKD138), duck nasi goreng bebek (HKD168), Thai garlic-lime sea bass (HKD268), and satay chicken skewers (HKD125 for 5 pieces). On the same floor, LUNA takes a refined Chinese fine-dining approach, with signature crispy fried black cod (HKD308), charcoal-grilled lamb rack (HKD268), fried sea cucumber (HKD398), and Iberico pork tenderloin (HKD298)—one of the few upscale casual dining choices in the area. For Italian, head to The Cipollini Pizzeria, which has built its reputation since opening in 2024 on both thick and thin crust styles—the Margherita (HKD158, 12-inch) and Chicken Tikka (HKD178, 12-inch) pizzas are great for sharing, while the Mortadella e Burrata Roman-style pizza slice (HKD56, 100g) makes a solid solo snack. And Uogashi Nihonichi has opened its second Hong Kong location in Kai Tak, following its Central Market outpost of this Japanese chain—the standing sushi bar is perfect for a quick bite before the show, with mackerel (HKD48), fatty yellowtail (HKD48), and red snapper (HKD25), plus a more substantial tuna scallion rice bowl (HKD188).

The Twins, meanwhile, leans into terrace views and desserts. On the 14th-floor rooftop, Nisugu blends Spanish tapas with Japanese elements—mentaiko Spanish omelette (HKD88), garlic edamame (HKD48), saikyo-yaki black cod (HKD248), and soft-shell crab paella (HKD198) are all on offer, with the terrace facing directly onto Kai Tak Sports Park. On the ground floor of the same building, Yonna Yonna Gelato, which opened in late 2024, brings Okinawan fruit flavours to Hong Kong—Nakijin watermelon, Chanchan mango, Gold Barrel pineapple, and Katsuyama shikwasa are all limited flavours, with matsu and tangerine, extra-rich milk, and vegan Okinawan mango (single scoop HKD48, double scoop HKD58) proving the most popular. Cullinan Sky Mall, meanwhile, features two new faces: Bistrot's Suzette, helmed by the team behind Gaylord's and Quiero Más with the now-closed jean may's chef Tiff Lo at the stove, serves French beef bourguignon (HKD298) and confit duck with lentils (HKD238) as mains, with chicken liver pâté (HKD128) and beef tartare (HKD198) as great starters; Fugazzi Pizzeria Napoletana specialises in Neapolitan pizza made with 24-hour fermented dough—beyond the classic Margherita (HKD158) and pesto chicken (HKD168), the ricotta and spinach ravioli (HKD172) and meatballs in sauce polpette al sugo (HKD98) pair perfectly with a pizza order.
