The badge on the V12 hood isn't the three-pointed star this time — it's LeBron James' crown logo. This marks the first time in Mercedes-Maybach history that a customer's personal emblem has replaced the traditional V12 badge, and it's easily the detail worth stopping for.

Mercedes-Maybach and James unveiled two S 680 saloons at Pebble Beach, both built through the MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure program. The two cars look nearly identical, but they're headed down very different paths: one joins James' personal collection, while its twin will go under the hammer at a charity auction later on, with all proceeds benefiting the LeBron James Family Foundation and its I PROMISE program supporting students and families in Akron.

The body is finished in a matte MANUFAKTUR light ivory, while the interior is wrapped in blue "Stormy Weather" Nappa leather with contrasting porcelain white stitching. Inside the cabin, the pillows, floor mats, and headrests all carry James' signature, and the car also hides subtle engravings and a dedicated badge marking the geographic coordinates of Akron, Ohio — James' hometown and the place where his foundation is rooted.

Both cars are headline pieces at Mercedes-Benz's Pebble Beach showcase this year — one destined for personal use, the other awaiting auction. The exact auction date and starting bid have yet to be announced.
