New Balance 990v7 in Japan: November 6 release, raffle and ¥49,500 price

New Balance takes the 990 family into its seventh version, combining grey suede and mesh in a newly arranged silhouette. Japan’s release, winner collection and shipping arrangements begin on November 6, with a tax-inclusive price of ¥49,500.

Before those arrangements begin, a Japanese raffle runs October 26–30 for myNB members at Bronze level or above. Raffle eligibility and general sales are separate matters: check your membership region and application route before making shopping plans.

At a glance

  • Japan, November 6: winner collection at designated stores and sequential official-online shipping begin; Harajuku has a separate non-raffle sale. Grey U990GR7 costs ¥49,500 including tax.
  • Raffle: October 26 at 19:00 to October 30 at 13:00, Japan time, for eligible myNB Bronze-and-above members.
  • The official U990GR7 raffle lists D width in 22.5–29.0cm and 30.0cm; check individual channels for sizes and supply.

Grey, with several different surfaces

Pigskin suede, mesh and synthetic-suede components give the grey upper changes in texture and tone. Try relating it to denim blue, black or cream already in your wardrobe, rather than treating a new shoe as a reason to replace an entire outfit.

Suede and mesh require different care. Ask about suitable cleaning and storage before buying. Made in USA should not be expanded into a claim that every raw material originates there; consult the specific product labelling if sourcing matters to you.

FuelCell changes still need a personal fitting

The midsole continues the FuelCell direction introduced with the 990v6, with a softer foam adjustment. That explains a design change, but does not establish that every wearer will experience the same cushioning or rebound, or a guaranteed result on long walks.

Wear your usual socks when trying the shoe. Check toe space, heel hold and how lacing changes the fit, then walk in it. A listed size range does not mean every market carries every size, and familiarity with an older 990 does not replace a fresh fitting.

Separate the raffle from release-day shopping

Member applications, winner collection beginning November 6 and Harajuku’s non-raffle sale have different arrangements. Read regional membership, payment, collection and notification requirements before applying. Membership in another market should not be assumed to satisfy the Japanese conditions.

For a Japan trip, confirm participating stores and actual stock rather than assuming every branch receives the shoe simultaneously. The Japanese ¥49,500 price is also separate from a Taiwan retail price or a cross-border total, which may include delivery, taxes and different after-sales terms.
