SC Rebel v1 and SC Elite v6 share the same Infinion supercritical foam, but New Balance splits it into two completely different personalities—one built for training miles, the other for chasing a new PB. This August, New Balance isn't just dropping one hero shoe to fill the room. Instead, it's laying out three lines at once—running, tennis, and everyday style—plus a twelve-week program designed specifically for women taking on their first half marathon.
SC Rebel v1 and SC Elite v6: Same Foam, Two Plate Personalities
SC Rebel v1 is built to blur the line between trainer and racer. The midsole also uses Infinion foam for cushioned landings and springy toe-offs, but the propulsion plate swaps in carbon-fiber-infused Pebax—more flex than a pure race plate, so the ride still feels natural at easy paces and only kicks in when you pick up speed. The upper is breathable FantomFit mesh. SC Elite v6 sits at the other extreme: New Balance's lightest Infinion foam to date, paired with a newly designed carbon-fiber propulsion plate. The upper uses ultra-light transparent mesh with FANTOMFIT, delivering a nearly weightless fit—all engineered for one thing: output, mile after mile, on marathon day. Same chemistry, but one side saves flex for daily training while the other squeezes out every gram of weight and every ounce of energy return for race day.
Women's Half Marathon Training Camp: Twelve Weeks Toward "Turns Out I Can Do This"
This program is exclusively for women taking on their first-ever half marathon. Led by New Balance Run Club coach Wu Yu-chiao, the twelve-week training plan comes with full NBRC team guidance and gear support, and selected participants will train side by side with other women all running their "first half marathon" together. Those selected also get an entry slot for NB 10K RUN, and standout performers may even have a shot at becoming an official NBRC pacer for future races. Registration is open now through August 20, with selection via screening and interview—applicants must already be registered for the half marathon category of a year-end gold-label race. Court and Street: Coco Delray, ABZORB 2000, 471
Coco Delray takes its name from Delray Beach, Florida, where tennis star Coco Gauff trained growing up. The low-cut, clean silhouette packs in a FuelCell midsole and a stabilizing plate underfoot to handle the quick stops and pivots on court; the outsole uses Ndurance rubber with a hexagonal traction pattern, reinforced toe area for high-wear zones, and a mesh upper that stays light and breathable. ABZORB 2000 rolls out three new colorways this season—berry purple layered with smoky purple, ash gray, and metallic silver with steel blue—built on a full-length ABZORB midsole with ABZORB SBS pellets, segmented outsole, and a Stability Web, turning early-2000s running tech into visible, tangible design details. 471 draws from 1970s running silhouettes, this time in a splatter-paint treatment—an off-white base offset by multicolor brushstrokes, with a black colorway going high-contrast. It keeps the wedge EVA midsole with a herringbone outsole, carries over the "fang" toe overlay from the original 320, and finishes with an exposed foam tongue detail treated to look deliberately worn-in.
