Oasis Reunion Documentary Trailer Drops: Gallagher Brothers' First Joint Interview in 20 Years

The trailer opens on an empty rehearsal room, the camera quietly waiting for someone to walk in. Then Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher arrive, one after the other, before the footage cuts to that reunion announcement that sent shockwaves through fans worldwide. This isn't just a nostalgia-selling promo—at least not from what's been cut together. It's more interested in capturing the unspoken tension of two brothers standing in the same room again.

The official trailer for "Oasis: Don't Look Back In Anger" has officially dropped, with theater tickets going on sale simultaneously. The two-hour documentary is produced by "Peaky Blinders" creator Steven Knight, and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace—the duo behind LCD Soundsystem's documentary "Shut Up And Play The Hits." The film features the Gallagher brothers' first joint interview in over 20 years, along with "never-before-seen" footage from rehearsals, backstage, and onstage.

In the trailer, Liam stands at the mic in a dimly lit rehearsal room, the two brothers sizing each other up across the space. Noel's voiceover touches on their past "tensions," before he asks that blunt, almost raw question: "Are we going to fuck it up again?" The footage then cuts to Oasis Live '25 taking the stage in Cardiff, with Liam saying the tour is about "exorcising demons." After a few shots of the crowd going wild, Noel says: "The songs are one thing, but I forgot what he means to these people." He adds: "I wasn't ready for that outpouring of emotion, what it means to people." Toward the end of the trailer, Liam offers his take on the whole reunion: "This is a chance to rewrite the narrative of this band."

North American audiences can pre-order tickets for the September 11 release through Fandango or other ticketing platforms, with an IMAX exclusive early screening on September 9 available in the US and Canada. UK audiences can book through Vue, Showcase, Cineworld, and IMAX, with some early screenings also on September 9. Liam and Noel are reportedly set to attend the Venice Film Festival together on September 5 for the global premiere of "Don't Look Back In Anger." Following its theatrical run, the film will stream globally on Disney+, with a simultaneous release on Disney+ and Hulu in the US.

Speaking about the project, Steven Knight said: "Oasis's world tour united generations, cultures, and countries, offering a message of reconciliation to a fractured world. This film isn't just a concert ticket—it's a backstage pass, letting audiences witness Liam and Noel sitting down together for the first time in 15 years, speaking candidly about the past and present." Noel previously mentioned he's only seen "a small portion" of the finished cut: "Everyone who's seen more of it says it's stunning. If it captures even five percent of what that tour felt like, it'll already be remarkable."

The trailer's release comes alongside rumors that Oasis may return for UK and European tour dates in 2027, including a homecoming residency in Manchester and a possible return to Knebworth—the promoters behind the Live '25 tour have reportedly already secured a license to hold shows at Knebworth. Meanwhile, Liam doesn't seem to be budging on any plans for a new album. Just last week, Oasis marked the 30th anniversary of their first back-to-back nights at Knebworth by dropping a fresh round of merchandise.
