How Seventhirtyatmorning Turned a YouTube Type Beat Producer Into His Steady Collaborator

In conversation with The FADER, Minneapolis rapper Seventhirtyatmorning explains how Moscow-based producer luvxomea went from a type beat playlist name to his regular partner, while also detailing the credits and creative evolution behind his new album *Antione's Son*.

How Seventhirtyatmorning Turned a YouTube Type Beat Producer Into His Steady Collaborator

It started with him spamming comments under luvxomea's YouTube channel, trying to buy up beats labeled "type beat." Now, the products listed on that same channel are tagged "Seventhirtyatmorning Type Beats." That reversal might be the single detail worth remembering most about Seventhirtyatmorning's relationship with the producer.

Seventhirtyatmorning, who goes by Thurt to friends, told The FADER in a July interview at our offices that he wrote his first song in March 2022 while studying at the University of Minnesota. He laid it over LUCKI's "Glory Boy" instrumental, recorded it in FL with no Auto-Tune, and calls it "straight trash" to this day — though he still keeps the file and hopes it never leaks. Before that, he was a basketball player who quit freshman year, then spent his gap year getting into fashion, dyeing his hair blond, and listening to a lot of Toro y Moi and indie music during COVID. People around him had already started telling him he looked like a rapper just from the hair and the fits. Once he discovered BandLab, he started recording every day, grinding out reps to sharpen his craft.

He stumbled onto luvxomea while searching for type beats from rappers he listened to regularly. luvxomea, based in Moscow at the time, had some beats for sale and some not, and Seventhirtyatmorning kept hitting him up relentlessly. "One day I just told him straight up, bro you gotta trust me, because I trust you — I genuinely connected with his sound, and I found him through type beats on YouTube," he said. The two officially locked in as collaborators in fall 2023, after he'd already bought up every beat he could afford and then told luvxomea, "that's enough, just send me the rest, let's get to work." He describes luvxomea's beats as "addictive like a drug," since they already sound like complete songs on their own — he's just layering his own song on top of luvxomea's.

The Credits Behind New Album *Antione's Son*

In March 2025, a music video for "time is now" featuring a capybara helped him start building a dedicated fanbase. His new album *Antione's Son* brings in ØWay affiliates Tezzus and Southsidesilhouette for "foolish," while close friend kels! features on "feelin good." Beyond luvxomea, the production lineup includes FearDorian and Miami, with his manager Texaco also credited as a producer. Before this, his June release *One Man Band* had its earliest song, "40MGs," written back in September of last year — the track itself was actually recorded months earlier in LA, with mixing and transitions finished only after he and Texaco, who doubles as his manager, producer, and engineer, returned to Minneapolis. He admits his own perfectionism over execution made this the most time-consuming project he's ever worked on.

That same need for control extends to his music video aesthetic. He once hired someone to edit his videos but wasn't satisfied after two rounds of revisions, so he taught himself to edit instead. Now his whole process just needs a camera and a colorist — everything else he shoots and cuts himself. "I want every shot to look exactly how I want it to look, that's my whole approach to this — whatever I want to see, that's what I'm going to show you."

Asked about his growth from his earlier work to *Antione's Son*, he said his writing used to be way too literal, and he's since been working on using more metaphor, paying closer attention to what message listeners actually take away from his songs. "I started realizing I have an influence on the people who listen to my music, and I want to be a good influence," he said. The people around him have told him he's already gotten there. "It's just that before, I wasn't doing it on purpose. Now I am."
