Most people know Shygirl from the club scene — that aggressive, precisely-on-the-beat electronic sound. But her new single "Lucky (Hymn)" goes almost the opposite direction: strummed acoustic guitar, layered breathy vocals, the whole track wrapped in a hazy trip-hop glow. It's a far cry from her dancefloor persona.
The track is the second single from Shygirl's upcoming second album 'Swallow!', set for release on November 6, following "Alyse" which dropped back in August. Recording actually began not long after her 2022 debut album 'Nymph' came out, meaning this new project has been in the works for nearly three years.
