'Skins' Star Reveals Her OnlyFans Earnings Triple What She Made on the Show
Megan Prescott, who played Katie Fitch in the British teen drama "Skins," reveals her OnlyFans earnings are three times what she made from the show, and looks back on how she went from odd jobs at a distillery during the pandemic to building a career on the creator platform.
Megan Prescott's character Katie Fitch on "Skins" was the kind of onscreen teen who was sharp-tongued yet fragile underneath. Years later, she's done the math herself: what she earns now on OnlyFans is three times what she made shooting the show.
She told The Sun that during the pandemic she was doing odd jobs at a distillery on a zero-hours contract, and a friend suggested she try OnlyFans, so she set up an account with subscriptions priced at £11 a month. "I spent so many years in acting trying to make things happen, but nothing was moving," she said. What really changed her mindset was realizing that stuff she used to post online for free, people were actually willing to pay for. "It completely changed how I look at things, and it genuinely improved what I create," Prescott said. She added that more mainstream actors will likely start moving toward creating their own content and platforms like OFTV, because "it's a kind of freedom you can't get anywhere else." OFTV is OnlyFans' free video platform for streaming creators' original content.
This echoes something she said in an interview with Cosmopolitan last year. She mentioned that people often assume "Skins" cast members made more money than they actually did: "We worked out our hourly rate once, and it was basically minimum wage. Getting £400 a week at 16, sure, I felt rich at the time, but looking back now... and the contracts we signed meant we never saw a penny from streaming platforms either."
Prescott's recent projects continue down this "creator economy" path. Earlier this year it was confirmed she'll team up with "Don't Look Up" director Adam McKay on an eight-episode short series called "Headline Newds," starring a lineup of OnlyFans creators who talk directly to camera about issues like climate change, delivered with a suggestive edge. The official description states that the series aims to tap into "sex-positive internet culture and the creator economy," breaking down heavy climate topics into short, punchy explainers that live inside digital spaces audiences already use, rather than expecting people to seek out traditional environmental content on their own.
