The 83rd Venice Film Festival kicked off on Wednesday, and two days later, she was spotted out in the city with boyfriend Scooter Braun, wearing a pair of Saint Laurent ankle-strap sandals paired with a loose-fitting white dress.
The sandals feature a leather buckle strap and leather sole, with a wooden heel and square-toe design—one of the more casual pieces in the Saint Laurent lineup. Against Sweeney's breezy white dress, they actually added a touch of polish to the overall look—not overly dressed up, but not too casual either.
This isn't Sweeney's first go-round with Saint Laurent. On past red carpets, she's worn the brand's pieces like the Lala square-toe boots, and these sandals are simply a continuation of her go-to preference. In contrast, music manager Scooter Braun took a completely different route this time—a pair of beige suede boat shoes, low-key to the point of nearly blending in. He typically favors classic styles like loafers too, only switching to black lace-up leather shoes for formal occasions like red carpets. In this Venice street-style moment, their footwear choices landed on opposite ends of the spectrum.
This year's Venice Film Festival will close on September 12, with George Clooney and Ellen Burstyn set to receive the Honorary Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement. Danny Boyle's "Ink" and Werner Herzog's "Bucking Fastard," starring sisters Kate Mara and Rooney Mara, are both slated to premiere during the festival.
