Sziget Night Four: BMTH Builds an Apocalyptic Theater, Rose Gray Closes with Just a Mirror

Same night, two completely different ways of building a world. Bring Me The Horizon turned the main stage into a Universal Studios-style production with pyro, screens, and a full apocalyptic script, while Rose Gray, over at the Revolut Stage, used nothing more than a clothing rack and a mirror to stretch a sixty-minute "room-to-club-to-home" journey into what felt like an entire night. It was the sharpest contrast of Day 4 at Sziget Festival 2026.

Bring Me The Horizon's headline set opened with a virtual avatar named Eve appearing on the big screen, asking: "Sziget, are you ready for the craziest night of your life?" What followed was a sci-fi doomsday spectacle crafted entirely by frontman Oli Sykes — the screens overlaid demonic imagery onto his face and the crowd's, all set against the band's signature dense, maximalist pop-metal. Sykes once described this approach to NME: "We want to make Universal Studios-style rock shows. We're so scared of the audience being bored for even a second that the whole thing is just constant flashing lights." That quote looked almost modest by the end of the night.

Onstage he was like a ringmaster spiraling out of control, demanding the crowd "do you know what a circle pit is," and bringing out Hungarian deathcore band The Southern Circle's frontman Barnabas Kókai for a tour-first live rendition of the brutal "Pray For Plagues." The encore surged from the doom-laden "Doom" straight into the metal-heavy "Throne," with the screens playing a twenty-year highlight reel of the band's journey from a small Sheffield deathcore act to global metal stardom. "We are Bring Me The Horizon from Sheffield, England," Sykes told the crowd. That line of introduction felt like a footnote reserved specifically for this stage.

Rose Gray took the completely opposite route. She told NME she wanted to recreate the full arc of "getting ready in your room, heading to the club, being in the club, then walking home" live onstage — even if it only had sixty minutes to work with. A row of clothing racks lined the right side of the stage, first serving as a changing room prop, then transforming into a club coat-check, while footage of London streets cut together with psychedelic lighting turned the tent into a multi-hour psychological journey.

She barely paused for breath, tearing through tracks from her debut album Louder, Please, the new song "Just Be Bodies," and a cover of Kesha's "Attention!" She described "Club To Your Arms" as being about "that beautiful journey home from the club one night, straight into the arms of someone I love"; during "April," she ran down the center aisle of the tent and told the crowd to "get down on the ground," then had everyone jump back up together into the chorus's climax. After closing with "Party People," she pushed the clothing rack aside to reveal a mirror behind it, grabbed a lipstick, wrote "I ♥ you, Rose Gray always," and kissed it. The crowd's reaction looked genuinely heartfelt too.

Skepta Detonates the Opener, Nia Archives and Peggy Gou Keep the Fire Going

As Day 4 bled into Day 5, a steampunk submarine was seen being towed through the grounds, parked beside a pirate ship blasting traditional Hungarian folk dance tunes, with "pirates" onboard blowing bubbles into the crowd. The atmosphere started to spiral, and Nia Archives pushed it over the edge with her jungle set at the Revolut Stage — the setup was stripped down to just two band members and a sofa, with white strobes flashing as she tore through "Feelings Go Numb." Over at the Bolt Night stage, South Korean DJ Peggy Gou hit the crowd with a barrage of old-school dance tracks, including her Eurodance remix of "The Rhythm of the Night," packing the area shoulder to shoulder.

Skepta's main stage set opened straight into "Shutdown," with a stage design built from Rimowa-style luggage and screens displaying boarding info for flights to the festival, followed immediately by "That's Not Me" and "Gas Me Up (Diligent)." He moved freely between rap and grime, and after tearing through a full-throttle "No Security," he suddenly stopped: "Hold on, I need to take a photo." He turned around to snap a picture with the crowd behind him before finishing out the set with "Redrum" and "Nasty." Nobody was left standing still that night.
