Brunch on the lawn, half-dozen oysters with a glass of bubbles, and that fire-roasted salmon everyone's willing to queue for—after August 6th, these scenes won't be happening on Yuyuan Road anymore, at least for now. The Cannery, the restaurant and bar that's brought Pacific Northwest flavors to Shanghai for a decade, is serving its final round that day.

Founder Mark Klingspon didn't mince words: "Opening a space this big ten years ago felt pretty cool at the time, and we really did build something of a destination, spilling right out onto the lawn. There's been so many special memories and so much nostalgia over the past decade. But the market's shifted overall, and this whole Yuyuan Road area has changed too. We want to dial in the concept—the right size, the right location—and bring back our signature salmon fire pit along with some new stuff."
