Bowling Shoes Go Snakeskin: Brain Dead Gives the Samba Bowling Some Fangs

Brain Dead and adidas' Samba Bowling series drops the "Animal Pack," featuring snakeskin and leopard fur versions, launching August 1 on SVD's website.

Bowling Shoes Go Snakeskin: Brain Dead Gives the Samba Bowling Some Fangs

A Samba you can actually wear bowling is already absurd enough. Brain Dead's move this time is to push that absurdity even further: snakeskin.

The latest drop in Brain Dead's collaboration with adidas on the Samba Bowling series is the "Animal Pack," this time centered on a reptile texture paired with black leather trim. The upper is fully covered in snakeskin patterning, matched with a slightly chunky platform sole. That sole design is exactly what lets the shoe walk into both a Michelin-starred restaurant and a neighborhood bowling alley without looking out of place. Alongside the snakeskin version, the series also includes a leopard fur option, bolder both in texture and visual impact.

The Brain Dead and adidas connection traces back to that first bowling shoe that sold out the moment it dropped. Since that collaboration, the two brands seem to have found a shared rhythm, repeatedly serving up combos that look odd at first glance but make sense on closer inspection — think dress pants paired with Predator cleats, or a fuzzy take on the Stan Smith. This time, they're circling back to where it all started with the bowling shoe, except this round, the shoe has clearly gone a bit more feral.

The Brain Dead x adidas Samba Bowling "Animal Pack" is set to launch August 1 on SVD's official website, with both the snakeskin and leopard fur versions dropping simultaneously. Pricing has yet to be announced.
