SHISEIDO Crosses Over with "Beauty Essence Perfume," Sunshower-Inspired Scent Launches in Japan First This September

One spray that's both a perfume and a skincare product—this time, SHISEIDO isn't just reinventing a scent, but redefining what "spritzing on perfume" actually means. Drawing on holistic research that connects skin, mind, and body, Shiseido Group has developed a beauty essence fragrance called "Scent Care Skin Mist," designed so that your everyday spritz can double as skincare.

The fragrance takes its cue from the image of a "sunshower": a crisp citrus top note captures the delicate sheen of raindrops falling in a tranquil Japanese garden, while a heart of vibrant jasmine sambac leads into a luxurious musk base infused with a distinctly Japanese sense of spirituality. The overall effect is warm and understated rather than bold.

What sets this apart from a typical perfume is the formula—about 85% skincare ingredients, delivered in a fine, silky mist that coats the skin's surface upon application, conditioning it while leaving behind a smooth, soft finish. In other words, the simple act of spritzing perfume has been reimagined as a mini skincare ritual.

"Scent Care Skin Mist" (30ml, ¥13,200) will launch first in Japan on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, available at department stores nationwide andthe SHISEIDO official brand websiteas well as the Shiseido online store. Whether it will launch in Taiwan, along with the release date and pricing, has yet to be announced.
