GENUINS autumn clogs add wool, animal prints and peacock blue: four models compared

GENUINS changes more than colour for autumn clogs. The Spanish footwear brand plans a late-October Japanese release featuring wool-lined RIVA VELOUR WOOL, animal-patterned RIVA VEGAN, platform-soled RIVA VELOUR BALOON and the existing FRINGE VELOUR in a new peacock-blue colourway.

The first three are listed as new models, while FRINGE VELOUR receives a new colour; they should not all be presented as newly invented silhouettes. Japanese tax-inclusive prices range from ¥20,900 to ¥25,300, with 23–25cm sizes in 1cm steps. Wool, animal print and leather refer to different material choices, and the whole selection should not be labelled vegan.

Wool lining and animal prints use different materials

RIVA VELOUR WOOL costs ¥24,200 including tax in TAUPE or MANDORLA. Its upper is genuine leather, the upper lining and footbed use natural sheep’s wool, and the outsole is EVA. In the photographs, wool appears around the opening and rear edge, paired with an adjustable buckle and cork-coloured sidewall. The clog covers the toes while leaving the heel open.

RIVA VEGAN costs ¥20,900 including tax in LEOPARD or CHEETAH. It lists a synthetic-leather upper and EVA outsole and is marked VEGAN. An animal pattern does not mean real animal fur, but the brand’s vegan option also does not turn the other leather- or wool-containing models into animal-free footwear.

BALOON builds volume; the fringed model adds a colour

RIVA VELOUR BALOON costs ¥25,300 including tax, pairing a TAUPE leather upper with a thicker EVA platform outsole and a silver-coloured buckle. The increased sole volume is visible, but an exact height has not been verified here. A platform is not proof of a particular height gain, stability result or improvement to gait.

FRINGE VELOUR also costs ¥25,300 and adds MALLARD peacock blue. The leather upper, fringe and western-style round metal ornaments define its appearance, above an EVA outsole. It is a new colour for an existing model, unlike the newly listed RIVA designs. Socks in styling photographs demonstrate a way to wear the shoes; they are not thereby included in the box.

A layered footbed is a design description, with fitting and care still individual

The brand illustrates a footbed comprising a lining, foam, jute net, natural cork and outsole, using layers for support and cushioning. This is its construction description, not a walking test by ÉTAT HER or medical orthotic advice. Waterproofing, slip ratings and prolonged-walking results have not been verified here and cannot be calculated from the diagram.

GENUINS produces at its own factory in Elche, Spain. Japanese channels include its official website, selected Boardriders direct stores and stockists; not every direct store participates. Late October is the announced release window, not a confirmed common opening day or guarantee of stock. Leather, wool and synthetic leather also require their own care guidance, and brand-wide environmental policies should not be treated as the exact material percentages of each shoe.
