KIMONOMACHI’s seven-year Shichi-Go-San kimono set: 13 pieces, 12 patterns and what is separate
Preorders opened October 26 for the seven-year-old girls’ 13-piece yotsumi set, priced at ¥100,100 including Japanese tax. The 12 patterns include two new colourways; matching adult clothing and hair ornaments are separate.
Preparing Shichi-Go-San clothing involves more than choosing a pattern: the contents of the set matter too. Kyoto brand KIMONOMACHI offers a 13-piece yotsumi kimono set for seven-year-old girls in 12 patterns and colourways. Priced at ¥100,100 including Japanese tax, it opened for preorder October 26, with dispatch planned from late October. The October 27 announcement is not another first sales date.
Alongside the kimono and obi accessories, the set includes a nagajuban with a half-collar, a waist tie and tabi socks. Photographs of adult and child models in matching patterns suggest coordinated family portraits. They do not mean the adult clothing, or every hair ornament shown, comes with the seven-year-old set.
Thirteen pieces include the nagajuban and tabi, but not every visible accessory
The list comprises a kimono, nagajuban with a half-collar, pre-tied obi, shigoki, obiage, maruguke cord, hakoseko pouch, hanging ornament, suehiro fan, bag, zori sandals, waist tie and tabi socks. For a first ceremonial outfit purchase, this list separates the merchandise from styling more clearly than a full-length model photograph alone.
Adult and child models in matching-pattern kimono; adult clothing is separate
A kasaneeri decorative layered collar and hair ornaments are not included. A kimono-only option also exists, but ¥100,100 is the tax-inclusive price of this 13-piece set and should not be assigned to the single garment. A three-year-old set in the same pattern is another separate product, not an additional outfit included with the seven-year-old version.
Twelve patterns mix classic motifs and plants, with two new colourways
The designs include arabesques, nandina, cranes and flowers, camellias, botanical bouquets and hummingbird garlands. Backgrounds range from dark navy and black to blue-grey, pale pink and mint. The photographs show different densities of large flowers and finer foliage. Adding the obi changes how the pattern is divided across the front and sleeves.

The new colourways are an arabesque navy and an arabesque-nandina rikyu-chairo, an olive-tinged tea brown rather than another mint. Matching adult designs offer a coordination option for photographs, but sizes, prices and sales units remain separate. The shared styling image does not establish an included adult outfit or a complete family-clothing package.

Shoulder tucks are prepared, but measurements still matter
The kimono and nagajuban have shoulder tucks already sewn, adjusting the shoulder span. This does not guarantee a fit for every seven-year-old. The kimono measures 130cm in garment length and 75.5cm in sleeve length; its sleeve-span measurement is 59.5cm before the shoulder tucks and 49.5cm afterwards. Compare the child’s measurements with the product’s measurement method and assess whether further adjustment is needed.
The final six KIMONOMACHI patterns including new arabesque colourways
The kimono and nagajuban are 100% polyester and described as machine washable, subject to their care labels and handling requirements. That statement does not cover all 13 accessories. Those two garments are labelled made in China, while the obi and some accessories are made in Japan: a Kyoto brand does not mean every component is Japanese-made. Planned dispatch also cannot guarantee delivery before a ceremony; a tight schedule requires checking the actual delivery estimate.
Questions and answers
Does ¥100,100 include matching adult clothing?
No. It is the Japanese tax-inclusive price for the seven-year-old girls’ 13-piece set. Matching adult clothes and the three-year-old version are separate products.
Are hair ornaments and a decorative collar included?
No. The nagajuban has a half-collar, but the additional kasaneeri layered collar and hair ornaments are separate. Check the 13-piece contents list.
Can the entire set go in a washing machine?
Do not assume so. The machine-washable description applies to the polyester kimono and nagajuban, following their care labels, rather than every obi accessory, bag or pair of sandals.
