When someone close to us says "I'm sick," most people's first instinct is to rush and gather information, arrange treatments, and tell her what to do next. That urgency often comes from love—but for someone actually walking through a long treatment journey, what she needs isn't another to-do list. Sometimes what she needs most is someone willing to sit beside her and simply listen as she voices her fears.
The 2026 Pink Run has built this idea right into its design. Now in its 12th year, the run will take place on October 31 at the Bobo Plaza in New Taipei Metropolitan Park, debuting a new 4km "1+2 Group" category that lets participants bring two family members, friends, or loved ones along the course. It's more than just adding two extra names to a registration form—it turns "I'm here for you" into a stretch of road you can actually walk together.
Event guest Poya Lee (Da Pei) also shared her experience caring for her father through his cancer battle. She admitted that her worry once turned into anxiety, leading her to unintentionally direct and micromanage him. Later, she came to understand that being there for someone doesn't always mean offering immediate answers—it means listening, so the other person feels safe and supported. She also reminded women that taking care of one's health isn't limited to regular breast exams; emotional and mental well-being deserve just as much attention.
