Belavia starts scheduled Minsk–Bangkok flights, with Phuket due October 29
Thailand’s tourism authority confirms the first Bangkok arrival. The weekly Sunday service is to be joined by twice-weekly Phuket flights, using a 281-seat A330-200.
Air links between Thailand and Belarus are moving beyond seasonal charters. Thailand’s tourism authority announced on October 26 that Belavia Belarusian Airlines’ first nonstop Minsk–Bangkok scheduled flight had arrived at Suvarnabhumi. A Minsk–Phuket scheduled route is due to start October 29. The different frequencies matter: Bangkok is weekly, while Phuket is planned twice a week.
This is not a new Taiwan–Thailand nonstop service or, by itself, a verified connection from Taiwan. Its significance is Thailand’s long-haul visitor network: both a city gateway and an island gateway gain scheduled capacity in a market previously served in part by charters. Destination, frequency and the distinction between scheduled and charter operations explain more than the inaugural-flight label alone.
Bangkok operates Sundays, with a next-day return arrival
The published B2 799 timetable has Minsk departure at 03:10 and Bangkok arrival at 17:05 on Sundays. The return leaves Bangkok at 19:05 and reaches Minsk at 01:50 the next day. These are local times at each end. They should not simply be subtracted to calculate duration, and the next-day notation matters when identifying the return arrival date.
The aircraft is an Airbus A330-200 configured for 281 seats: 18 business and 263 economy. That is a seating configuration, not a passenger count or a measure of ticket sales. Actual arrival photographs show the aircraft passing under a water salute, a flag at the cockpit and an airport welcome, documenting this flight rather than substituting generic airport imagery.

Phuket is scheduled to follow, separate from earlier charters
Twice-weekly Minsk–Phuket flights are planned from October 29 with the same aircraft type. The tourism authority estimates roughly 2,248 additional inbound seats per month on that route. This is a capacity estimate, not completed passenger journeys or the combined capacity of both routes. The two full weekly Phuket departure days and times have not been verified here.
Belavia previously operated charters to U-Tapao Rayong–Pattaya and Phuket from January 2026, later suspending them for the off-season. The change is the addition of scheduled services, not the airline’s first-ever operation to Thailand. Bangkok and Phuket are separate destinations; the announcement does not establish a single flight calling at both or an included domestic connecting ticket.

Read market figures over comparable periods
The tourism authority identifies Belarus as a developing long-haul source market. Its figures record 32,179 arrivals in 2025 and 23,769 from January 1 to October 24, 2026, with the latter up 1.25% year on year. Subtracting a partial-year total from a complete year would not demonstrate a loss of visitors: the reporting periods need to be comparable.
The authority’s 30,000–35,000 full-year figure remains a forecast. Fares, baggage allowances and Taiwan sales channels were not supplied in this announcement. For travel planning, actual services and ticket conditions require a separate check. The Bangkok flight already received, Phuket’s planned start and a projected visitor total are three different states, rather than one completed expansion claim.
Questions and answers
Are both scheduled routes already operating?
Bangkok’s first arrival is confirmed. Phuket is planned to start October 29, so their status differs.
How often will they fly, and with which aircraft?
Bangkok operates weekly on Sundays; Phuket is planned twice weekly. Both use a 281-seat A330-200 with 18 business and 263 economy seats.
Has Belavia never flown to Thailand before?
It previously ran U-Tapao and Phuket charters. The development concerns the scheduled Minsk–Bangkok and Minsk–Phuket services.
