Brooks Brothers Golden Fleece launches in Japan on November 1: fabrics, makers and yen prices
The upper-tier line combines DJA cotton, Colombo blends and RING JACKET tailoring across shirts, coats, cashmere knitwear and trousers. Prices here are tax-inclusive Japanese figures.
Brooks Brothers is introducing Golden Fleece in Japan as its highest-tier clothing label, with sales scheduled from November 1, 2026 through its Japanese online store and selected shops. The original announcement was published on October 28, the previous day, rather than first appearing on October 29. The Japanese release should not be read as confirmation of a simultaneous Taiwan launch.
The line focuses on fabric, construction and cut across button-down shirts, a checked jacket, a polo coat, a down coat, cashmere knitwear and trousers. “Highest-tier” describes its position within the brand, not a quality ranking across competing labels. To understand price differences, the specific fibre composition and construction of each piece are more informative than the premium label alone.
Shirts and a checked jacket: mills and handwork
The two button-down shirts use David John Anderson Sea Island cotton Royal Oxford and REDA ACTIVE GOAT Oxford in 94% wool and 6% cashmere respectively. The announcement describes details including hand-finished button attachment and gussets, with sleeves attached after the body construction. Two tax-inclusive Japanese prices are listed, ¥55,000 and ¥66,000; confirm the actual product number before matching a fabric to a price.
The checked jacket uses a Colombo blend of 53% cashmere, 25% wool and 22% mohair, priced at ¥396,000 including tax. RING JACKET MEISTER handles the tailoring, with hand-worked buttonholes and lapel flower hole and a pieced collar-canvas arrangement. These are specific construction details, not a claim that ready-to-wear equals bespoke. Shoulder width, sleeve length and ease of movement still call for a fitting.

Two coats with different structures, beyond apparent thickness
The polo coat uses Tallia di Delfino double-face fabric in 90% wool and 10% cashmere. Made by RING JACKET, its unlined construction aims at a lighter structure, with an inverted box pleat and belt at the back. The price is ¥605,000 including tax. Unlined is a construction specification, not a fixed warmth rating or weight; layers and the conditions in which it is worn also affect comfort.
The down coat has a Loro Piana 365 Super130’s pure-wool shell and a thin 20-denier internal down pack. Its 180g filling is 93% goose down and 7% feathers; the tax-inclusive price is ¥286,000. Fill weight and fill ratio are separate specifications, and 180g is not the whole garment’s weight. The announcement does not state fill power or a minimum temperature rating, so neither should be invented as a performance guarantee.
Cashmere knits and trousers complete the range
The 100% cashmere polo sweater and crew-neck sweater are priced at ¥90,200 and ¥85,800 including tax respectively. College Flannel wool trousers made by IGARASHI TROUSERS have two outward-facing pleats and side adjusters, at ¥88,000 including tax. These offer starting points for comparing necklines, waist adjustment and fabric feel, rather than a rule that the entire outfit must be bought together.

The Japanese shop list includes Omotesando, Marunouchi, Shinjuku Isetan, Nihombashi Mitsukoshi, Yokohama Sogo and Osaka, alongside the official online store. November 1 is the release arrangement for this market, not a promise that every shop has every size. All amounts here are tax-inclusive yen figures, not official Taiwan prices converted from yen. Check the intended shop’s opening, stock and fitting arrangements before travelling; a premium material description is no assurance of immediate availability.
