The next mainline entry in the Diablo series finally has a release window. Blizzard announced at BlizzCon that Diablo V will arrive in spring 2029, marking the next core installment following Diablo IV. The official trailer and announcement post revealed little about the story, only hinting that events will pick up after Diablo IV, thrusting players straight back into the fires of Hell.
More noteworthy than the game itself was another announcement made at the same event: Blizzard confirmed that a Diablo animated series is being developed in partnership with Netflix. Details remain scarce — no release date has been given, and the animation studio behind the project hasn't been announced either. Blizzard says more information will be shared as development progresses, leaving fans with just one line as a hint for now: "Sanctuary's darkness is spreading."
