GRANIT in Tokyo’s Jiyugaoka: plan around tableware, storage and textiles
The Swedish home brand’s first Japanese store opened September 4. Its two floors were planned around roughly 1,000 items. Start with the measurements of your home, not a complete copy of a styled photograph.
GRANIT’s first Japanese store opened in Tokyo’s Jiyugaoka on September 4, 2026, operated by AEON Retail. This is a plan for an existing shop, not news of an opening today. Founded in Sweden in 1996, the brand brings storage, kitchenware, stationery and textiles together in one approach to everyday interiors.
The two-floor store announced about 1,000 items and a tax-inclusive opening price range of ¥550–¥33,000. These are budget references, not guarantees of today’s stock or every item’s current price. The pictures are brand product settings, not photographs from our visit or proof that every piece of furniture and plant is sold as one set.
Store details
The address is 1-26-16 Jiyugaoka, Meguro-ku, Tokyo. Opening information lists 11am–8pm; recheck the day’s trading arrangements before travelling.
The first floor covers kitchen, bath, plants and decoration; the second covers textiles, storage, lighting, stationery and furniture.
Grey, black and natural materials inform the brand’s style. Confirm individual uses, measurements and care rather than judging solely from a complete display.
Start with your own table and cupboard
The brand’s tableware setting stacks cream, pale blue and burgundy cups and bowls, showing that one table need not use only one colour. Begin with plates you already have and consider which cup or small bowl would add something useful, rather than replacing everything to reproduce a photograph.
For a purchase, rim size, depth and cupboard space are practical checks. Note shelf height and everyday portions, then consider access and stacking. Microwave, dishwasher and oven suitability must be checked on individual labels; a similar look within a range does not establish identical uses.

Match storage and vases to the space
The range includes metal wire baskets, woven baskets, wall storage and differently shaped vases. An open grid keeps contents visible; weaving provides another surface texture. Decide whether you are storing small loose objects, fabrics or frequently used items before comparing openings and depth.
Transparent and green vases in the setting hold leaves and branches, directing attention to the relationship between neck width, stem height and position. For wall-mounted pieces, check fixings, load limits and suitable surfaces in the item specifications. A styled photograph is not an installation method for every home.

Plan textiles, the store route and the journey home
The cushion setting combines pale blue, pink-beige, burgundy and green, suggesting a change in visual layers without replacing large furniture. Check existing cushion inserts, sofa colours and washing needs before choosing material and labels. A picture cannot replace touch or prove that every design uses the same fibre.
You can begin with everyday items downstairs and compare textiles and storage upstairs. For lighting or larger household goods, confirm electrical requirements, packaging size and delivery options; do not assume everything can be taken straight to Taiwan and used unchanged. Opening gifts announced in September are not evidence of a current promotion. Check the shop’s present information.

Questions answered
Did the Jiyugaoka store open today?
No. The first Japanese store opened September 4, 2026. This focuses on the existing shop’s categories and planning a visit.
Where are tableware and storage?
The opening layout places kitchenware on the first floor and storage and textiles on the second. Displays can change.
Is all the pictured tableware microwave-safe?
A photograph cannot establish that. Check the material and use label on each item; similar colours or one brand do not guarantee the same suitability.
