Material upgrades usually come with a price hike, but Boox is doing the opposite this time. The new Palma 3 swaps out the previous model's plastic shell for an anodized aluminum body, yet it's priced at $320 on the official site—a full $60 cheaper than last year's Boox Palma 2 Pro.
The Palma 3 features a 6.13-inch HD E Ink display with dual-tone front lighting, 128GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot that expands capacity up to 2TB. Like the Palma 2 Pro, this pocket reader supports the Boox InkSense Plus stylus, letting users jot notes directly on the page while reading, with notes syncing to the cloud automatically. Battery capacity sits at 3950mAh, which Boox says is enough for several days of reading—though heavy use of the 16-megapixel rear camera for document scanning will noticeably drain the battery faster. The camera comes with a built-in flash, and the device also packs dual microphones for voice memos or speech-to-text. It runs on Android 16 with the Google Play Store pre-installed. The Palma 3 is now listed on Boox's official site in black and white color options, though it's not yet available for purchase; the stylus is sold separately for $46.
