Choosing a first platinum piece: Platinum Woman’s22 new designs and Anna Yamada’s first encounter

Adding jewelry to daily life need not begin with buying a complete set. Platinum Woman’s Japanese November2 launch brings22 designs from4℃, Vendome Aoyama, Tanaka Precious Metals and Ponte Vecchio into one collection. New ambassador Anna Yamada also appears in a film about opening a jewelry box and trying a ring for the first time. For readers considering a piece for themselves, the announcement offers a way to compare shapes, component specifications and prices beyond the campaign portrait.

Both official announcements were published at midnight on November2 in Japan, equivalent to11pm on November1 in Taipei. They were not first disclosed on November2 in Taipei. The purchasing information concerns Japan; all prices below include Japanese tax and are in yen. They are not Taiwan-dollar prices, nor confirmation of identical stock, shipping or after-sales arrangements in Taiwan.

Four approaches, from flowing lines to geometry

4℃ combines flowing platinum lines with diamonds in necklaces, earrings and bracelets. One pair of earrings costs¥49,500; necklace options include¥88,000,¥103,400 and¥126,500. Vendome Aoyama uses soft metal contours around diamonds, with a¥90,200 necklace,¥72,600 earrings and a¥74,800 bracelet. These are prices for individual designs, not a single price applying to every item from a brand.

Tanaka Precious Metals translates a plump cushion shape into a necklace, ring and earrings at¥112,000,¥118,000 and¥90,000 respectively. Ponte Vecchio offers necklace-and-earring variations using folded-paper-like geometry, stars and other motifs. Across all22 pieces, listed prices range from¥49,500 to¥126,500. Some are under¥100,000, but that description cannot be extended to the whole collection.

Read platinum marks by component

Specifications can list more than one platinum grade. Some4℃ and Vendome Aoyama necklaces combine a Pt950 main component with a Pt850 chain; earrings may include separately listed Pt900 parts. Tanaka’s necklace and ring are listed as Pt999, while its earrings list both Pt999 and Pt900. Membership of the same collection does not mean every piece is Pt999: the complete specification for each design matters.

A photograph conveys a form and a metallic finish but cannot establish size, weight or comfort. In the interview, Yamada says she likes an ear cuff’s rounded lines and fit. That is her individual impression, not a test showing that everyone will find it equally comfortable. Material stability should not be turned into guarantees against scratches or allergies, or promises of investment returns.

The film and the online gift have different roles

The brand film follows a first encounter with platinum, moving from a jewelry box and a ring to a reflection in a mirror. It is an advertising story performed by an actor, rather than a record of Yamada’s private life; an interview and behind-the-scenes footage accompany it. Viewers can use the styling as atmosphere, while returning to specifications, budget and everyday needs when deciding what to buy.

From November2 to December31 in Japan, purchases of collection items through participating companies’ online shops qualify for an original glove holder, while limited supplies last. The pictured bag and gloves are excluded. The collection also continues an organiser-announced contribution of¥500 per item sold to certified NPO Katariba. This describes the stated donation mechanism, not an independently calculated number of beneficiaries or measured social impact.
