A reunion dress that feels like you—and can be worn again: form forma turns a 300-woman survey into shopping questions
Tokyo Soir’s form forma plans a four-style dress recommendation site for November 1. In its online survey of 300 Japanese women aged 18–25, 69% valued repeat styling. The coupon requires a tax-inclusive ¥22,000 transaction, above some individual starting prices.
An invitation to a reunion can bring excitement about seeing friends alongside uncertainty about what to wear. Tokyo Soir’s form forma has announced an updated Hatachi Dress website for November 1, adding questions that recommend dresses based on preferences. The project draws on a survey of 300 women aged 18–25 in Japan. Announced October 29, the site remains a forthcoming launch.
Rather than setting one formal look for everyone, the project brings occasion, personal preferences and later use into the same decision. It is a brand shopping tool, not an assessment of bodily worth or a professional guarantee of styling success. Nor do 300 respondents represent a single answer shared by every young woman in Japan or Taiwan.
Nearly three in ten were unsure about occasion-appropriate designs; 69% valued repeat use
The brand’s Freeasy internet survey ran September 25–October 1 and received 300 valid responses from women aged 18–25 across Japan. A multiple-response question about potential problems choosing formalwear found 29.7% unsure which designs suited an occasion, 28.7% unsure which suited them, 26.3% concerned about price and 22.7% unsure where to shop.
In another multiple-response question, 46% prioritised whether something suited them. Asked how much repeat styling mattered after purchase, 23% said very much and 46% somewhat, totalling 69%. That supports the brand’s focus on choice and subsequent use; it neither proves a dress will increase everyone’s confidence nor means the remaining 31% discard clothes after one wear.
Four styles organise preferences; the quiz remains a recommendation tool
The update expands the previous two directions into KAWAII × SWEET, KAWAII × DREAMY, COOL × CHIC and COOL × MODE. The announcement proposes four designs per type at tax-inclusive prices of ¥19,800–¥28,600. Sweet, cool-pastel, dark and more sharply styled options can be compared, but product categories do not reduce women’s personalities to four types.

The site plans #2WAY and repeat-styling tags on product imagery, with examples using a set’s bolero, jacket or blouse separately. Wearing something again can therefore involve connecting its components with an existing wardrobe, rather than only changing accessories. Check individual construction, care and sizing: a demonstration with one set does not establish identical features throughout the collection.
The coupon has a threshold, so consider the occasion and wardrobe first
The brand says the quiz leads to a coupon usable in shops and online from November 1–30, giving 10% off a transaction of at least ¥22,000 including tax. Since some dresses start at ¥19,800, the discount should not automatically be applied to every dress bought alone. A limited-period original scrunchie gift is also announced for in-store buyers; confirm quantities and further conditions with the brand.
Runa Nakashima, who turned 20 this year, models the four directions. Campaign looks do not guarantee the same effect on every purchaser. For a gathering after a Japanese coming-of-age ceremony, checking the organiser’s dress guidance, budget and later occasions offers a useful starting point. These are Japanese prices and arrangements; Taiwan purchase, shipping or equivalent offers were not verified.
Questions and answers
Does the survey represent all young women?
No. It covers 300 women aged 18–25 in Japan, surveyed online September 25–October 1. Its sample cannot automatically be extended to Taiwan or all women.
Does one ¥19,800 dress qualify for 10% off?
The announced coupon requires a tax-inclusive transaction of at least ¥22,000 and is usable November 1–30. The ¥19,800 starting price alone does not meet that threshold.
Can the dress quiz already be completed?
The announced opening is November 1, so on October 30 it remains forthcoming. It recommends styles according to preferences, rather than medically assessing bodies or guaranteeing size and fit.
